🇬🇧 Chemistry-X crush back with their explosive new single "Pure Wasteland". The song, along with other tracks, was recorded at ACME Recording Studio and was produced by Davide Rosati and mastered by Giampiero Ulacco.
-This is our most intense song ever. It's about breaking free from a rotten relationship, it's about pain, it's about reaction. Musically it's got all the elements that make Chemistry-X a unique band. Now that we worked with Davide Rosati our sound is at its very best and Pure Wasteland is the perfect example. Working with him was absolutely a blessing and we wanna thank him for bringing this band at a higher level.-
Pure Wasteland is available on every streaming and download platform. Also a music video for this song is coming out on June 23rd.

STRANGE FEAR started play in December 2002 in Modena (North Italy).After 2 demos and few changes of line up, in 2008 recorded their first full length called “ Another Bullet Of Hate” due out for New Direction Records. After more than 150 gigs around Italy and europe, the band got stronger and heavier old school sound mixing power and speed. In August 2011 the band comes at the Acme Studio to recording the second full length “A Permanent Cold” due out in October for Indelirium Records.

Rock’n'roll. Ovviamente a modo loro. Questo fanno i Bachi da Pietra, questi sono i Bachi da Pietra. Il verme della roccia ha assunto le sembianze di un potente insetto corazzato, dopo la genesi fangosa e le mutazioni di questi anni (quattro album, un live in teatro – “Insect Tracks” – registrato in mono esclusivamente con strumentazione vintage e uno split con i Massimo Volume). Anni che hanno indurito la pelle e trasformato il fango in ruggine petrosa, solidificandola, infine. Sporcando, infettando, colpendo. Tutto scorre e muta. Né speranza né paura. Soltanto il naturale incedere del tempo sulle cose. I Bachi da Pietra sono sassi in un fiume e si lasciano trasportare, consci che se tutto si trasforma, degli insetti mutanti come loro non possono certo sottrarsi a questo destino. Qui nasce e qui arriva “Quintale”, che come gli ultimi due episodi (una trilogia del tarlo?) gioca con la progressione dei numeri e come gli altri spiazza e lascia storditi. Sempre in maniera diversa, sempre colpendo il lato scoperto, come un pugile consumato col quale si possono prendere tutte le contromisure del caso, ma sempre di un livello superiore rimane. Un pietrone. Dodici brani di rara durezza, materiale incandescente su cui Giulio Favero ha messo le mani in quel de La Sauna di Varano Borghi (VA) nell’aprile del 2012, registrando mixando e tagliando rigorosamente in analogico e su nastro, senza interferenze digitali, facendo scaturire dalla roccia una potenza sonora mai raggiunta prima dai Bachi da Pietra. Strumenti ancora una volta ai minimi termini eppure un suono sempre impossibile da classificare, che questa volta è capace di riempire ogni spazio, ogni anfratto entro cui in passato si aveva il tempo di riprendere fiato; lusso che con “Quintale” è ridotto all’osso. Pochi inserti esterni, la chitarra di Giulio Favero in “Fessura”, la sua voce in alcuni cori (mai emersi prima nei solchi dei Bachi), il sax impazzito e schizofrenico di Arrington de Dionyso (Old Time Relijun) in “Enigma”, “Paolo Il Tarlo” e “Ma Anche No”. Tutto il resto è il sempre più monolitico suono primordiale di Succi e Dorella: rock e blues (archetipi metal) scarnificati e possenti. Il legno e le corde, le pelli e il ferro che si sono fatti pietra. E questa volta è la successione stessa della track-list ad essere il bignami per spiegare il cambio di pelle dei Bachi da Pietra: “Haiti”, “Brutti Versi”, “Coleotteri” ed “Enigma” non permettono pause, “Fessura” e “Mari Lontani” concedono un respiro, prima di rientrare nel vortice di “Io Lo Vuole”, “Pensieri Parole Opere”, “Paolo Il Tarlo”. “Sangue” il sangue lo fa sputare davvero, prima dell’ultima decompressione, con “Dio Del Suolo” e “Ma Anche No”. “Quintale” è un disco di paradossi: un peso massimo ma tutto sommato più fruibile che mai. Deve molto del suo suono possente a due strumenti minimi, introdotti nell’universo dei Bachi da Pietra: al plettro sulla chitarra e al charleston accanto ai due tamburi. Deve molto all’immediatezza del rock’n'roll affrontando però tematiche forse ancor più complesse, non senza aperture ironiche e crude, con punte di profondità e cinismo. Dopo una carriera di versi, muta in prosa. Se la letteratura è semplicemente una traccia, questa è letteratura rock (o letteratura e basta). Per un disco come questo, “Quintale”, cento chili, in fin dei conti è un nome leggero. La metamorfosi apparirà evidente anche all’orecchio più duro. La natura dei Bachi da Pietra rimane la stessa ma l’esito è un cataclisma. State all’erta. Il posto è adesso, e il tempo è qui.
