cable.percussion (Johnny McDowell) is a Korean-Irish producer based in Dublin, Ireland. Active since 2023, he is known for his energetic live hardware sets, prolific output, and distinct style of acid-infused braindance.

His sound is set apart in particular by his unusual use of the classic 303 bass synthesizer as a lead instrument of expressive and emotive narrative. 

Organised chaos is a central theme in his music, with unpredictable and brain-wiggling 303 lines morphing out of ever-changing synth landscapes that are carried by futuristic and often aggressive drum patterns.

His live sets / mixes demonstrate the ease with which he leans into any given electronic genre, with tracks ranging from ethereal euphoria-inducing IDM to sewer-crawling breaks-infused filth.

Ultimately, the common denominator in his music is a playful sense of adventure - the feeling of excitement and fun that results from breaking the rules of and the boundaries between genres to create dance music that is equal parts mentally, emotionally and physically engaging.

Since his independently released C.PERC EP in August 2023, cable.percussion has been consistently putting out new music on labels including Aduaine, Intellitronic Bubble, Tripalium Corp, Computer Controlled Records, and People Can Listen, as well as collaborations in the forms of remixes for producers including Aran Sheehy, Blakkheart and Marco Simioni.

In 2025 so far he has featured on Aduaine's latest VA comp with the single 'Paraben', released an 11-track LP 'Acroplastics' with Computer Controlled, and most recently the 6-track EP 'Bleach' with PCL, released on August 1st.

This mix is taken from practice recordings of his latest live set, a fundraiser concert for Palestine with the Gluten Makes Me Burp (GMMB) collective on 26 July.

Breakdata is an electro producer and DJ from Ireland whose sets balance raw energy with deep underground textures.
