High Frequency FM patch using a prototype custom 200e compatible 258e module.

The patch was fairly complex, but very generally:

258e VCO#2 LFO pulsing a 230e to create a pulse for 266e QRV used to control a mix of 258e VCO#1 pitch. I used a variable waveform output from a 261e Mod VCO ... patched back into the 258e VCO#1 FM input.

Other modules used in this patch (in no particular order): JRB Reverb, 281e, 292e, 227e, 254e, 210e.

Also - NO external efx or compression - straight out of my Buchla, into the console, then into the computer.

There is no greater feeling for us than when one of our nearest ‘n’ dearest leaves a top tier PEPMIX submission in the SP Inc. pigeonhole.
 
So when we asked the lovely Vid to do just that, not only did we singlehandedly broker an historic deal to usher in an unprecedented era of pan-Mersey peacetime, Vid ran with the brief and posted back a real home-run of a touchdown of a mix.

Vid (real name Vidyut Vardhan), the eclectic host of Netil Radio’s show ‘Radio Vid’, provided us with 2 hours of typically charismatic ambient textures. Vid’s shows are a delicate curation of Modern Classical, Jazz, Indian Raga, Dub, Acoustic Ambience, Space-Age Synths, and Soft-Pop, and track a devoted musical mind through his heritage in Delhi to his life in London via Liverpool. His shows reflect a minimalist appreciation of space, allowing his selections to breathe whilst giving the listener an opportunity to stop and consider.

The PEPMIX has it’s origins in a two-hour show that never aired from the start of lockdown, and has proved a source of reflection and serenity during these bullshit, turbulent times we find ourselves in. It is both a careful and genuine consideration of a shared chaotic experience, and a meditative spirit-booster. It’s even got Jeff Bridges in it. 

As a character who is very close to the crew, and one who has shared so much inspiration, knowledge, and good got-damn times, it is a pleasure to be able to feature Vid. We hope you can enjoy this as much as we have done.
