Taking inspiration from all the incredible music I'm grateful to have experienced over these past few months from parties, festivals and dance floors, I decided to put this appreciation mix together. The tracks just seemed to pick themselves. From Gregory Porter and KOKOROKO to classics from the legend that is Moodyman and incredible collaboration project between Kenny Dope and Louie Vega, Nuyorican Soul.

So big shout out to all of the incredible Artists, DJs, Promoters, Bookers, Festival Crews and fellow people of the dance floor for keeping the spirit and vibes alive. This is one big THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC.

Summer Jazz & Soul Session [MOODS 281 C]

There's no better place to spend a moody Tuesday summer's afternoon in Berlin than at Moe's. Good tunes, good company, a couple of lazy cats and a sprinkling of ambient Neükolln street sounds to keep you humble.

The feel of this MOODS session is pure rhythm and groove. Featuring tracks from James Brown and Hunee, Remixes from Marcellus Pitman and The Reflex and also included are some of my favourite releases from Rush Hour Music and Hessle Audio. It's a mixed bag but it'll make you move.

Slowly but surely the weather is turning, trees are greener, flowers are sprouting, & everyone's shedding their winter coats. Perfect time for another addition to the VIBRATIO)))NS mix series! Continuingthis year's theme of inviting friends to host, I'm delighted to welcome my homie Adam Cooke to add his flair to the series @acooke-1

I first met Adam at Kala Festival in 2022, surronded by beautiful music in the most gorguoes setting possible. It's funny, because whenever I arrived at a stage at the fest, I instantly Adam's curls boppin' in the distance, which became a sure sign that the music at that stage was excpetional. We kept on running into each other through out the festival, chatting here & there with every interaction confirming to me that this dude was a vibe. 

Fast forward to linking up in Berlin over the past while, & every interaction just reconfirmed my initial impression. Truly, one of the highlights of this period has been getting the chance to know him better & being fortunate enough to call him a friend. A wonderful human, fantastic ally, a true music lover (& selector) of all genres & a dance floor fiend of the highest order. If you see those curls boppin', know you're in for a good time.

"This vibrations is an audio trip of the past few months for me. Tracks that have highlighted my ups and my downs and others I haven’t been able to stop listening. The vibe is mixed because… that’s my vibe. I find it impossible to play just one kind of style of music so there are a couple of twists in here for your ears. We’re going from Bossa Nova to Balearic from Dublin to Detroit. It somehow worked… I think. I’ll let you be the judge.

The Crate Radio #463 - Radio Flouka 18.10.2024

Afternoon recording of a random pull of records from my house crates. Really happy with how the records flowed. Featuring some absolute classics from Sounds of Blackness, Moodymann and Chez Damier and some deep cuts from some of my favourite labels such as Rush Hour, AUS music and Azuli Records.

Last set of 2024. What a rough auld year. Found it tough to find inspiration for most of it and felt very uninspired stepping into the booth, yet this turned into one of my favourite mixes to date. It filled me with joy and energy. I hope it does the same for you! It just reminded me that good music can be so healing!

End Of Year Party | Live @ Refuge Worldwide 14.12.24

The mood is purple. 

It’s no secret I’m a huge Prince fan and the same goes for many of the artists, musicians and DJs that I admire and look up to. One of my favourite recordings I ever put together was a 100% Prince mix but seeing as Mixcloud didn’t like that kind of thing and I lost the recording, I decided it was about time I made another one. 

The main inspiration to put this together in the first place comes from one of my favourite musical memories. It’s Glastonbury 2019 and Late Nite Tuff Guy is kicking off the entire festival with a Prince only set to a tiny rammed tent down the back off the field. I’m still yet to experience anything like the looseness that ensued dance floor when he played Sexy MF. There were arms, legs, shirts, shorts, umbrellas and whistles flying all over the gaff. 

Better suited to be pieced together on something like Ableton rather than a Pioneer controller, but I’m so software illiterate that it had to be done the old(er) fashioned way. Updated with a couple of my favourite edits that I’ve discovered since the last recording. We got there in the end and it is banging to be fair.

Anyway thank you LNTG for that set, those memories and here’s my tribute to his royal badness himself, Prince.

A weekend of music that hit in all the right ways. The kind of sets and acts that remind you why you love music and the collective joy it can bring in the first place. But it wasn’t just the music. It was the energy, the people, the unapologetic stance on issues that actually matter. Gatherings like this prove that music experiences can be more than just escape, they can be a statement. Collective action that and create real change.   

I’ve wanted to put this mix together for a while now and now feels like the right time to put it out. We’re on the cusp of summer again, the world is still shook up in all the wrong ways and I find myself needing what I experienced at We Out Here festival last year. Inspired by all of the incredible acts I saw and people I met, I selected music that I felt could give even a sliver of that feeling condensed into 2 hours. 

Featuring tracks from some of the most influential artists for me including Ron Trent, Moodymann, Osunlade, Joe Claussell, Mateo & Matos and so many more. I hope this one hits just right.

Before taking to Radio and DJing, Adam predominantly performed in various bands In Ireland. As a drummer and bass player, percussive rhythms and grooves are the essence of his playing and selections. This foundation in live music results in sets that are unique and filled with a blend of live and instruments and electronic sounds guaranteed to move you.

Tunisian-born, Italian-raised and now Berlin-based, Meriem brings a global, story-driven approach to DJing, blending North African rhythms, Arab beats, Italo, Disco, Electro and House into sets that feel both nostalgic and bold. A resident at Refuge Worldwide with her show Roots and Beats, and co-founder of the FLINTA* collective CALABADDIES and SaHHara, she creates intentional spaces that honour roots, community and movement.
