In The Cool Of The Eveaning - Instrumental Composed for Client

I composed this short composition during the winter of 2022 (in Adelaide South Australian) as a fun way for string students to develop their skills in Pizz. technique. It's easy to understand how I came up with this title having owned several puppies and watched them play around together in their own cute way. The print music will be available in 2023 for String Orchestra.

Pizzicato Puppies - String Orchestra

I composed this composition for String Orchestra at a coffee shop in Adelaide South Australia in May of 2022 during our winter. The music was hand written into the tablet music program "Staffpad". So I didn't need to use a piano. My favourite cafes are found in the beachside suburbs starting at Glenelg and driving through the coast to Hallett Cove beach. The music has also been used in several church services at the Hallett Cove Uniting Church.

Moonlight Flight - for Strings Orchestra

This String Orchestra composition is in a Jazz Waltz style. This piece has yet to be recorded properly in a suitable studio however I think you get the overall feeling of this composition. The original theme has already been arranged/orchestrated for another ensemble. ( see if you can find the other version & compare as it doesn’t have the same title) Which version of this theme do you prefer? ( I like both as it depends on my listening mood that I'm in for the day etc.) With regard to the form of this string orchestra version, the print/audio music is a good example of "Book Ends" style of writing. E.g. The Intro and the Outro are the same.

"Waltz In The Clouds" for String Orchestra

This is a "RAW" recording 1st. Take of a instrumental Backing Track titled "Kinda Blue". Obviously it needs a lot of work however I thought what the heck. My friends think the melody is Gr8. However they really love the strings when they enter at 1: 25 in the piece. They say strings give the piece a real lift to the music. What do you think? And yes, the outro definately needs work. What instrument would you give the melody to? So ...... this is a 1st draft only of what's in the pipeline that has yet to be developed.

Kinda Blue - Instrumental Backing Track

This is a "RAW" recording 1st. Take of a instrumental Backing Track titled "Lemon Tree". Obviously it needs a lot of work however I thought what the heck. My friends love the drums and bass line and also the melody. The middle section has a vamp to break up the music a bit and give the instrumental soloist a bit of a break before they enter again. What do you think? I did a better job on the outro of this 1st. Take compared to other music of mine. 
What instrument would you give the melody to?

"Lemon Tree"- Instrumental Backing Track

This is another RAW 1st. take recording that is in the pipeline so it will need a lot more work before the finished product is ready and can be called a complete audio track.
The reason I uploaded this and other 1st. take recordings is that you can get some idea of what might become available in 2023 with the print music. This example has Flute and Guitar on the lead/melody. The first thing I notice is the intro is way too long. Outro also has to be redeveloped. Also the overall form of the piece needs to be re arranged. To put it another way......... each section of the main theme works but might be in the wrong place instead of a logical order and the Intro and Outro are either too short or too long. Okay so it's a 1st. Take recording.
What instrument should replace the one in this example? (Flute/Guitar) I better work on that bass to as it needs work.

"Lacuna" - Instrumental Solo Backing Track (Full Version Tenor Sax)

"A Village Summer Pond" is a Tone Poem composed for String Orchestra & Woodwinds in pairs. It tells the story in musical form of a pond in southern England during summer. ( water, reeds, bird life etc.) As there are no Trumpets or Troms and Tuba this is a great way to give them a rest after blowing their lips off to get the blood back in the lips.

A Village Summer Pond - Tone Poem composed for String Orchestra & Woodwinds in pairs.

"Eleanor" is a Full Orchestral composition that I wrote for my wife. The title of the composition is in fact her middle name.
The composition starts out with soft French Horns & Woodwinds are added as counter melody. The composition builds to a climax with full Tutti and Trumpet fanfare then softly fades away.
Print music for this composition will be available later in 2023 from my website to download. The website is now under construction.
