Shock/denial. This is about not wanting to let go of a love, but at the same time faking acceptance through denial. Things will work out in the end won’t they? We can’t say they will. We hold onto the idea that they will in denial of the alternative. The loss of a lover is a sort of death remorse despite the other being alive still.
