This song was written by eight young people who took part in the Acoustix Music Development programme. In nine weeks, the young people had the opportunity to write, record, perform and promote a song - this song is it!

After an intense group discussion on the issues of the world today, 'depression' became the most common and agreed upon issue of all. This discussion lead to the young people writing the lyrics and the music for this song which ultimately aims to encourage all those who suffer from depression to SPEAK UP and SPEAK OUT, to fight for life and love.

X1 - What Are You Thinking?

X1 is a band that formed in July 2015 at Hagley Community College. The band consists of two leaders (Emz and Johnni) and seven students from Hagley (Jakib, Eden, Felix, Camz, Te Aroha, Samantha and Emma) and one Kirkwood Intermediate student (Madisen). Once a week on a Wednesday throughout the third term of 2015, X1 met up after school to write and record their debut single "What Are You Thinking".
