C12 is a multidisciplinary nightclub and platform run by the Deep in House collective, located in the heart of Brussels. It's a safe place where freedom, diversity, creativity and alternative culture are protected from the restrictive and normative outside world. The project was launched in February 2018 and includes concerts, art installations, lives, club nights and exhibitions.

The Corona crisis is keeping our doors closed and dancefloor empty for several weeks now, with no hopes yet on new line-ups and crowds of enthusiastic dancers. But this unprecedented situation isn’t holding us still. Continuing to support our local Brussels and Belgian electronic music scene, C12 is proud to announce its own label with 10 music compilations dubbed Social Distancing. All artists involved are Belgian or strongly connected to the Brussels scene. Confirmed are Le Motel, Stellar OM Source, A.Brehme, Front De Cadeaux, Davy, OCB Casa Voyager, Cabasa, Techno Thriller, Orphan Swords, Different Fountains, Bear Bones Lay Low, Gols, Hadone, ... and our residents Session 4000, Kafim & Chris Ferreira. Compilations will also be curated by female artists promoting platform ‘Psst Mlle’ and queer culture collective ‘Benediction’.

Each edition consists of a collection of several tracks and will be released every two weeks, leading to a total of approximately fifty tracks. All music will be available to add on your favorite streaming service Soundcloud, Youtube, Spotify (coming soon) and Bandcamp. In addition for each track we offer a limited amount of 500 free downloads through our Bandcamp page, where donations are also enabled for those who wish to support us and the artists involved.

‘Social Distancing 1.4’ is curated by ‘Psst Mlle’, the Brussels based platform promoting non-masculine artists. Offering a plurality of styles by five female artists, Psst Mlle’s eclectic selection expresses the willingness to bring people from different backgrounds together. Artists such as Dziri,MONOMONO, Afia, Fleur and Laryssa Kim contribute to this release with sounds ranging from deep & soulful to uptempo Middle Eastern infused acid.

@kindergartenrecords continues to grow their library of cosmic club workouts this time putting residents @sharu head to head with @despinadespina for "Polychronia" out on June 5th. Sha Ru's tracks are the truest representation of the band’s ambitions to date, and a seismic leap in ambition that sees them incorporate vocals for the first time. "Face" is introspective, Ma Sha’s alluring vocals a siren’s call to the bubbling, muddy depths within.

For Farsight, California’s bucolic San Geronimo Valley was the space that allowed for the creation of this handpicked selection of artistic output. Following a period of deep interest in abstract painting and its relationship to music, the artist found this lush and sparsely populated region to be an ideal location for contemplation and composition. Although the majority of the work was executed in the first two months of 2020 in this forested setting, some of the pieces were based upon drafts created as early as Summer 2017.

United in their eclecticism, the six cuts that comprise “Not Here, But Somewhere'' reveal a broad spectrum of musical influences. They are statements in an age in which influence is omni-directional, and in which the pace of artistic invention outstrips the ability of observers to identify and reify sub-genres. Although each track presents a unique approach, “Cadena,” “Sans Titre,” and “Door to the River'' reflect the continuing global suffusion of Latin American and Carribean styles such as reggaeton and dancehall.

Simultaneously, the duo of “While” and “Hot Half” suggest the ongoing dialogue of techno, electro, and industrial music and the interstices between them. “Mid-Winter Burning Sun” invokes the intensity of American trap music with its booming bass while touching equally upon the feel of early dubstep.
Ultimately, the idea that there is a “space for each artist” can be taken both in a literal sense— One’s physical environment— And also in the figurative sense that there is room enough for the ideas of all artists, who are kindred spirits in the endeavor of radical self-expression. In this way, “Not Here, But Somewhere” exists as an acknowledgement and gesture of goodwill towards every artist daring enough to explore the unknown.

PREMIERE: DJ 8.6 - Modèle Aquatique [Human Disease Network]

More Cowbell established themselves in summer of 2019, rising through the scene as a Facebook community, pushing all things percussive and bass driven within the UK techno realm. With support from Keysound Recordings, Rinse FM and Keep Hush, the collective has made its mark as the catalyst for reigniting a fractured scene. With this success under their belt, 2020 see’s the launch of their label. The first instalment of their release roster reflects the label’s heavy influence from early 2000’s 2step, as well as the post-dubstep era that merged the sounds of dubstep and techno.

Manchester based producer, Monir, has delivered a three track EP which explores the realms of 130BPM, taking influence from the raw, UK sounds of early Wen and Pinch, whilst incorporating the shuffle of 2-Step drums respective of El-B and Ghost Recordings. The first track, entitled ‘Collusion’, sets the EP’s tone with low-swung bass pressure and layered subs. Whilst the second track, Overpass, pays homage to the early FWD>>> sound with heavy, bouncing 808’s built for the system. The EP finishes off with a track entitled ‘The Instinct’, connecting 2-step inspired drums to aggressive vocal chops that encapsulate UK sound system culture.

After three years of throwing parties, we’re thrilled to announce something we’ve been dreaming of for a while now, the launch of our label and the first Awkwardly Social record release.

AWK001, Eleese EP by Aroent will be out officially on July 24th 2020.

Similar to our events and mix series, it is our goal to use the label as a platform for exciting, up and coming artists from within our community and beyond. Working together with our friend, the very talented Greek-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer Aroent therefore has been a real pleasure and felt natural from the get go. We hope you enjoy this wicked set of forward thinking club tracks as much as we do!

We are tickled pink to be announcing this top draw bit of tackle from label affiliate Troy Gunner with a killer Herron remix to boot. After his contribution to Unperson’s remix plate it felt right to ask him to put his shin pads on and wade into a 4 tracker. This EP sees Troy traverse a multitude of tempos and forms, using foreboding sonics and clattering percussion to create feelings of pure angst aswell as elation and we can’t wait to hear these in a club setting.

All profits made from this release will be donated to the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust.

By now we're no strangers to the big bad Sheffield trio that is Denham Audio. Putting out topbar rave nectar since 2015, their Club Glow project has been a sure benchmark for the authentic 90's sound they have become so known for. With a flurry of releases this year via E-Beamz, Lobster Theremin and LT sub-label, There Is Love In You,  2020 is shaping up to be their biggest year yet! As they only continue to build, they arrive on the white label of Berlin via Bristol's Sneaker Social Club, for another energetic session of heavy lifting with 'Top Buzz' EP. 

Across three tracks, the signature Denham sound rings loud and clear; jungle, breaks, hardcore, bassline. All the party essentials in one place. Teaming up with friend and Club Glow co-pilot on 'Pocari Sweat', together they have meticulously chiseled an deep reaching dancefloor shifter. Bellowing breaks fill the space on this one, with a silkily skulking synth providing the groove. Sinister in feel but as always, ostensibly fresh, 'Pocari Sweat' strikes a neat balance, palette cleansing as much as it is a heads down skank off. Crack a cold one and see for yourself below.

This appealing, metaphorical trip is echoed in a second Subwise release from the one-man project called Acrylic Paint (or, on occasion, "Acr†Pnt"). The label introduces his tracks thus: "This isn't just music. It's a journey. It's a journey to places you've already visited - and to those you dream of seeing. It's a reflection of living nature - together with all its beautiful landscapes." Pleasure is made synonymous with a move away from home. The further, the better.
With a little work, it can be discovered that Acrylic Paint is actually Yaroslav Tochilin, who lives on the very outskirts of Moscow - in the town of Zelenograd. Here the city's asphalt comes to an end and the woods begin. Interestingly enough, the history of Zelenograd is grounded in twentieth-century electronics and the very tools that allow for communication far beyond the physical constraints of audible speech. We're working hard to get away from typical streets and lives.
Yaroslav Tochilin received a classical education on the piano and - more recently - has performed in a rap ensemble, although time constraints have led him to focus exclusively on instrumental electronica. He seems intent on long-term effort within that narrower field, since one of his chosen aphorisms on a networking account reads (in English): "The long haul will show who's who... as the bookies say." Tochilin then offers a fine example of that long-term endurance, in the name of surrendering to something superior. It comes in the form of a true story, concerning an elderly lady who was seen at a nearby railway station, selling her small and naive, handmade paintings of flowers.
