the love for electronic and techno music was a long process for me. it basically started with getting used to the 12Xbpm speed combined with more pop-like sounds and vocals. cause once this rhythm gets to you there is no going back.

the freedom we are all talking about | cyrus 3h live set @ nachtigall cologne

during our journey through the beautiful and diverse country of israel we had the opportunity to spend the night on a rooftop in the center of the historic part of jerusalem. just in sight of all the major religious monuments which make this place so special.
I recorded this set when I was supposed to pack my bag and we listened to it about a hundred times during our stay. by far the most special time was the one at the rooftop after a very short night under the stars. 4:20 in the morning. woken by all these incredible sounds coming from dozens of different churches, mosques and synagogues. the sunrise at the horizon.
it was an honour and an incredible experience to be a guest in this beautiful country.

4:20am in jerusalem

this set is a tribute to the marvelous city of cologne which I now call my home. 
here I live a happier life than I could have ever imagend. but this is not about me, it is about the vibes within and the heart of this collection of people. this city can function as parable for various situations in life. though not always appealing on first sight, as soon as you look beneath the surface and pay close attention, you can find so much beauty and love in the details. but the real magic here are the people. I have lived in several places, visited a lot of cities and people, throughout germany and the world. I always tried to somehow connect with the people who spend their life individually. and I can tell you my friend, the people of cologne are special. they don't care where you come from, about your status, what clothes you wear, what you look like or whether you are cool. cologne's traditions set the mood for its open minded spirit. but enough. enjoy the musical journey of this set. let's celebrate life with good electronic music.

enjoy the compilation of quite different styles within this. Well, the Zülpicher Str. has a different sound than the Aachener Weiher, doesn't it? and crossing the Rhein triggers a different sensation than slandering through the streets of Ehrenfeld just as the Südstadt has a totally flair to it than the Belgisches Viertel...

the power of tel aviv: memory shreds from the block

when we got up at 5am to take a hike to lions head we were rewarded with a moment of perfection as the sun rose above the mountain rages in the near distance. it presented us with the most beautiful setting of light I have ever whitnessed while the clouds poured over the mighty stone edge of table mountain like a waterfall. what a beautiful glimpse of nature.
I only had the pleasure once to be in this beautiful place, but I hope to return very soon. and when I recently discovered the beauty of the world music / weltmusik genre I realised that this is the sound to what I saw.... so  in my mind, these melodies take me back.
