I’m excited to share Reflections, a collection of six piano (+ three variations) pieces that I originally composed for an upcoming film, set to be released next spring. These pieces are personal and flowing, each one capturing moments of introspection and emotion that emerged through the scoring process.

On a few tracks, I had the pleasure of collaborating with cellist Eurico Ferreira Mathias, whose playing adds a beautiful, soulful depth to the music. His cello brings an extra layer of feeling that really complements the piano and enhances the mood.

Reflections is a quiet, heartfelt project that I hope will give listeners a space to pause and reflect. In these fast-paced and challenging times, I hope this album offers a moment of calm that we all deeply need. Thank you for listening.

Renaud Garcia-Fons - Silk Moon

Today I was in the mood for a Felt Piano Sound. The soft, almost muffled tone creates a very intimate and warm sound. Due to the significantly quieter sound (-8dB!), the side noises of the piano (and player) naturally come out more clearly. (Which further emphasises the intimate character). Enjoy.

Reverence

Hey, actually I just wanted to get a little more familiar with the F# minor scale today and to anchor it deep in my ‘emotional memory’, I often improvise little pieces like this one. (Perhaps it would be better to call them ‘etudes’.) Here the sequence of notes A, G#, F# stands out a little and that's why I'm calling the piece ‘A GisFis’ (from the German of A, Gis, Fis). Enjoy.

We are thrilled to introduce the first pianist in ad21’s "Woman Muse" series, Susanne Darre, a Norwegian composer of modern classical music. She records from a rustic barn-turned-studio, surrounded by the Arctic sea, mountains, and the Northern Lights, which deeply inspire her music. Susanne brings tender and expressive tones to life on her vintage Schimmel upright piano, rich with resonance.  
There’s something unique about a steady, confident woman. A woman who dares to be herself and stands up for what she believes in. Strong, soft, and humble—a reflection of the beauty of her life experiences, her warmth, and empathy. Like a steady harbor, an anchor. Simply “Irreplaceable.”

In 1998, pianist and composer Bruno Sanfilippo, along with his wife Ximena Contreras, established their own record label, ad21, as a haven for their creative expression. Since then, ad21 has released over 30 solo and collaborative albums in digital and physical formats, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of the neoclassical music scene.
In 2024, ad21 embarked on an ambitious new venture by opening its doors to pianists worldwide, broadening its platform and artistic outreach. Collaborating with Javier Guglielmi, ad21 aims to foster a record label specializing in neoclassical music, with a particular focus on solo piano performances.
Their vision for ad21 is to create a nurturing environment where artists can discover a supportive community and access the resources necessary to maximize their musical potential.
