I feel like the reason why Napstablook would try to end the world in an AU where they're in Asriel's role, and Mettaton is in Chara's role, or some other role where Mettaton is dead, is because they're severely depressed, due to losing Mettaton, and they think that ending the world will stop them from having to suffer ever again.
