I came up with this fun bassline fiddling around on my keyboard and thought "Well that's obviously a Pokemon route theme" and thus this piece was born! Shoutout to my fellow Monash composers for helping me fine-tune it :) Also I rolled a d100 to generate the route number.

Today's prompt was the "Press Start" sound from Mega Man Zero. I used some volume automation to give the effects of echo on the repeating rhythmic riff and some actual delay on the drum line. Fun times!

I'm so excited for this month's 7 Days of VGM challenge, Wild West!! I love this kind of music so much but have never much tried writing it! Imagine our hero waking up, pulling their hat down over their eyes as they watch the sun rise across the tangled desert brush - then getting to work.

My first piece composed in Bitwig! Gosh DAWs are a lot. 
Desola Town is the starting area in my imaginary Pokemon game. I really wanted to capture that sense of love that a lot of the starting-town themes have, but also to suggest a slightly wistful sadness - my thought is that a lot of people in Desola are struggling to make ends meet. 
I would love any feedback and thoughts, to help me revise and polish :)

My second-last entry for December's 7 Days of VGM challenge, and my personal favourite so far! Today's prompt was, probably obviously, "Dragon". At first I was thinking to go for something big and orchestral feeling, but then I thought - maybe it would be more fun to use all those funky old-school sounds that are MEANT to sound like orchestral instruments but don't QUITE? I ended up with something that felt a bit like a ritual combat of some kind.

The time traveller takes the duchess' daughter to the modern world. Here, evven more so than the Industrial Revolution, there is just so MUCH of everything. The pace of life, the extreme quantities of information and noise and general sensory data - it's all too much for her. She begins to fiercely miss her mother and her home and her life, back when it made some sense.
