For Black History month I dedicated my NTS to a celebration of my people in dance music. It's a mixture of tracks old to new spanning 25+ years from areas & individuals mainly in the Midwest, East Coast, and UK. A lot of the older tracks are foundational pieces of music that have shaped me as a Black Afrofuturist deejay of Pan African intent, while many of the newer imbue the brilliance and hope I currently see in modern Black dance music despite a scene that still has long to go with properly valuing us as more than diversity center pieces:

Miah Benton (adab) puts heavy emphasis on presenting the margins of existence and sound through their djing. The now Philadelphia resident started spinning various eras of dance music as a result of finding Cleveland's queer techno party & crew In Training and being a Chicago born queer youth raised across a few states in the Rustbelt. But ADAB, as presented here, is less person and more a way of being that seeks to illuminate refreshing perspectives for others wherever they may be found...

“Adab, Islāmic concept that became a literary genre distinguished by its broad humanitarian concerns; it developed during the brilliant height of ʿAbbāsid culture in the 9th century and continued through the Muslim Middle Ages.
The original sense of the word was simply “norm of conduct,” or “custom,” derived in ancient Arabia from ancestors revered as models. As such practice was deemed praiseworthy in the medieval Muslim world, adab acquired a further connotion of good breeding, courtesy, and urbanity.
