Acclaimed Australian author John Marsden has died at the age of 74.

The multi-award winning author wrote the internationally best-selling Tomorrow book series and founded and served as principal at two schools in regional Victoria, Candlebark near Romsey and Alice Miller in Macedon.

Jennie adored the Tomorrow series as a teenager and was thrilled to interview John Marsden at Adelaide Writer's Week for Radio Adelaide in 2017.

She shares the chat with Adam.

South Aussie author Leonie Kelsall has a new book out set in her fictional Murray Mallee town of Settler's Bridge.

The author of rural romance and romantic suspense once dubbed our Brekky show 'Unfailingly Cheerful'.

The community has rallied to get the beloved Port Elliot pontoon back into the water at Horseshoe Bay.

The flotation device is now finally back in the water after it washed ashore in stormy weather in September 2024.

Following campaigning from community groups, including the Port Elliot Surf Life Saving Club and Port Elliot Town and Foreshore Improvement Association, Alexandrina Council held several meetings to find a solution, with concerns about liability and running costs upwards of $58,000. 

Following a special meeting on 23 December, Councillors unanimously agreeing to put the popular swimmer platform back into the Bay - with no net cost to the district.

Thanks to in-kind support by Goolwa Jetty Builders, and offers of financial assistance if needed from the Owler Family, Thomas Foods and State Member for Finniss David Basham, it is now back out there.
