Sparrow & Barbossa is a DJ and producer duo formed by the Swiss Bryan Coletta and the Uruguayan Emiliano Haberli.
Bryan is a pianist and comes from a musical family, his father is the legendary guitarist Francis Coletta who worked with artists like Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, and Frank Sinatra among others.
Emiliano was born and raised in a region of Uruguay dominated by African colonials and got widely influenced by what’s called “The Culture Of Candombe”, pure African tribal rhythm coming from the colonialism.
Since a very young age, Bryan has been influenced by soul, jazz, and funk, which he uses now in his creations with his strong capacity of improvisation and versatility. Emiliano moved to Europe 15 years ago where he con- nected with the music, starting to form his style in the electronic music world, making music together with Chus & Ceballos and Joesky (USA).
Together, Bryan and Emiliano form Sparrow & Barbossa, creating a fusion between organic and electronic pro- gressive sounds. Their age difference has a positive influence on both their releases and performance. While Bry- an brings the freshness of modern sounds and melodies, Emiliano fine-tunes the rhythmic part and brings his knowledge built up throughout the years. Globe-trotters, they’re true lovers of ethnic and lost cultures, devoted to transmit this legacy through electronic music.
Sparrow & Barbossa are most known for their track Yeke that charted number 1 on Beatport afro house together with Enzo Siffredi’s remix. Recently they’ve also released Shakara on Radiant which is has been charted by nu- merous top-notch afro-house players.

Es ist alles vorbereitet und mein Puls wird schneller. Ich hoffe die Aktion wird Aufmerksamkeit erregen. So stehe ich nun an einem Samstag im Park und nehme mein altes Radio vom Fahrrad. Die rastlose Suche in den Vintagemärkten hat sich gelohnt. Wie ein Relikt vergangener Tage steht das Gerät am Rand des schmalen Weges, welcher quer durch den Park führt. Die alte Technik ist sperrig und eigensinnig, aber versprüht gleichzeitig ihren höchst eigenen Charme. Wobei einige Modifikationen am alten Empfänger notwendig waren. Wir mussten den Kasten auf Batteriebetrieb umrüsten und haben einiges mehr an Lautstärke aus den alten Boxen rausholen können. Das charakteristische Rauschen und Knarzen ist glücklicherweise erhalten geblieben. 
Nur noch die letzten kleinen Einstellungen vornehmen und die Party kann beginnen. Noch 5 Minuten bis Sendebeginn. Langsam werde ich etwas hektischer, da ich den lokalen Sender meines Kumpels nicht richtig reinbekomme. Auf der alten Anzeige, kann ich die Frequenz nur schwer erkennen. Immer heftiger drehe ich an den Knöpfen, doch das Ergebnis bleibt das Gleiche. Viel Rauschen unterbrochen von den Gassenhauern der großen Stationen. Ich beschließe meine Taktik zu ändern. Ich atme tief ein und schließe meine Augen. Vorsichtig drehe ich den Regler und lasse mich von meinem Gehör leiten. Bis plötzlich der erste Takt einer wohlbekannten Melodie mich aufschrecken lässt. Beständig pochend wird die Musik immer lauter. Tatsächlich habe ich es noch rechtzeitig geschafft. Jetzt kann die Magie der Musik sich entfalten und den Rest erledigen.

Atmet auch ihr noch einmal tief ein und lasst euch von der deep story von T.M.A durch die nächste Stunde führen. Euch erwartet ein emotionaler Trip in die Weiten der elektronischen Musik.
