Adwano is 37 year old Adam Lee from London.  Primarily a DJ for the last 21 years but no stranger to the world of Dance Music production.

Back in 1995, whilst Adam was still at school, instead of working hard, he spent most of his free time on his brother's decks and sending cassettes out.  Before he was old enough to be in a bar or club, Adam started playing the odd House set at some well established venues.  He continued playing as much as possible and in his early 20’s he won and came runner up in many competitions, ran by Ministry of Sound, TDK, Topman and the legendary Trance night Passion to name but a few. This led to Adam playing at Pacha in Ibiza for The Ministry of Sound alongside legendary chart act and DJ’ing duo Deep Dish, as well as Back to Basics resident and Head Honcho at 2020vision Ralph Lawson.  

Adam soon became a regular fixture at all the bars and clubs in his hometown of Watford and continued to play all over London at various events.  He was then lucky enough to land a full time 12” buyer position in a North London record store, which is, where his love of music really began. After a few years at the store, he moved into the distribution of Dance Music vinyl and started working for Amato, which at the time were supplying to all the stores up and down the country and overseas. After selling over the phone, he was promoted to London Sales Rep, meeting the buyers in the London stores throughout the week, playing and selling new House, Trance, Techno and Hardcore.  Whilst working at Amato, Adam met up and coming DJ, Brett Gould and they quickly formed a partnership, The Persuaders and the DJ’ing took off.  They held residencies for Kidology and Electronic Sessions and many other club nights in legendary venues all over London, unfortunately, many of them now turned into flats or offices.  These included The Cross, The End, Turnmills. SE1, Hidden, Ministry of Sound, Pacha and The Egg, the list goes on.  They didn’t stop in London though, they took all the opportunities’ that came their way and played up and down the country as well as gigs in Ibiza in the summer months.  

Both Adam and Brett started producing and after a couple of years of working with different artists, they finally released their collaboration with now Ministry of Sound resident Tim Cullen.  Everything was going from strength to strength but in 2009, due to very unfortunate circumstances, for health reasons, Adam had to take a huge step back from the DJ’ing and production, Brett carried the Persuaders fort with a view to carrying on the partnership in the future. 

Adam is now studying full time for a Degree in Music Production and is starting to get his DJ’ing back off the ground, still playing locally and has now launched himself as Adwano,  a solo production artist and has releases on Daylight Robbery Records and Frizzante. With a wealth of DJ’ing experience and forever progressing productions, you may just find him on a forthcoming release real soon.
