One day in July 2019 I decided I wanted to make 2 songs as quick as possible, the 2 songs that came out of that were this one and another called "Your Soul Falls" which you will also find on this channel. 

This is a very experimental track and very different to the stuff I'd normally produce. The strange pitch bend that sound like metal stretching in tune and almost has a siren kinda feel to it... I think the piano flows very nicely with this instrument. This song is about my views on politics at the time, I'd love to know your own interpretations of it too.

Make Believe

This is the first song I ever recorded using a live piano. I used my Challen Upright Piano which is from the 70s and still in pretty good condition. I recorded with 2 condenser mics and once the Midi was recorded, out of curiosity I quantised the piano to be in perfect beat which gave it a very strange, creeping sound, almost like it was being played on tape in the background, gives me silent hill vibes for some reason. 
When I wrote this song I had very severe depression, on top of being misdiagnosed with anxiety when I actually had stomach ulcers, life was very hard that year and the only thing that could get me through it was my piano and my crappy little mac laptop I had. Luckily I pulled through and things have been looking up since but I still sometimes listen back to this song and it reminds me of a very dark place that I was once in, almost like it wasn't even me and this song was my soul striving to be strong... I don't know if this is a good song or not, but it is the way it is because of how I felt at the time.

A Hearts Design

After reading a very emotional book about the holocaust "The Man Who Broke Into Auschwitz", I had imagined what it was like for the families that had been broken up, the women craving to know if there child is alive, or praying to die quicker... the men who tried there best to do the right thing in life, fathers, babies... best friends, brothers, sisters... Its dark but it's true, I find the holocaust very uneasy and do not enjoy talking about it but I feel sometimes, by talking about it and remembering the suffering, we are paying respects to those who have suffered.

I imagined 2 people who didn't know each other but ended up bunking next to each other, never knowing when the day will come. They became friends over a period of months of survival and what i can only describe as, Torture. There's no doubt this was a common scenario in the camps, this song represents the thoughts of the victims and their final night.
