This was the very successful first release of our housey and more tool-oriented sub-label Outils du Connaisseur...produced by @martin-beume and released in 2008.

Dear music lovers, please welcome our newest imprint for House-related tools and dubs: Outils du Connaisseur. The word outils means tools in French, so the literal translation is: The tools of the connoisseur. This is what it’s all about: Music for DJs, simple but highly effective.

On our first Outils release, we welcome Martin Beume from Cologne, who has already released under Beume and Golden Red in the past. All tracks on this release have already received massive feedback and were hammered by DJs like Laurent Garnier, Loco Dice, Karotte, Marco Carola, Raresh etc. over the summer. Outils will be starting a new era on Connaisseur.

Nexus – Peaktime, baby! A track somewhere between house and techno, reduced to a stoic marching groove. Exactly what we were looking for when we decided to found Outils du Connaisseur.

Nexus (Moodymanc Dub) – Manchester’s Moodymanc aka Dubble D turns Nexus into a massive drum affair. The professional drummer keeps the bassline, the pumping heart of the tune, but adds a fabulous voodoo twist to it.

Texgreen is an idiosyncratic house track. The alienated hurdy-gurdy gives the groove a reeling feeling. The uplifting moments, however, are generated by the pumping second bassline, which is sporadically added on top. Special and outstanding!

After Few Nolder, Italian fellow Lehar aka Lorenzo Esposito is the second new signing for Connaisseur this year.Apart from his residency at the CIRQ club in Venice and regular bookings at some of the best clubs and parties in Italy and Malta, Lehar truly is a very talented producer as well. Some of you might have heard the free download for Lehar’s remix of Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s classic "Tristesse“ which has caused some attention on him the past weeks and was therefore the perfect precursor for this release. 

His demo impressed us very much and both titles really hit our taste. And as though this wasn't enough, together with his demo he delivered a remix by his friend and probably hottest producer of the moment: Mario Basanov, head of the label Boso and mostly know under his moniker Ten Walls. 

XY is the first track on Lehar's release. With it's continuously rising atmosphere, its demanding groove and catchy chords, this tune is an absolute guarantor for proper dancefloor mayhem. 

Sargas on the other hand, is slightly more subtle and dominated by a spooky and mysterious atmosphere. A totally deep and alluring affair peaking in a string-driven break. 

On the flip-side you will fnd Mario Basanov's remix of Sargas and Lehar can really be thankful to his friend for delivering such an amazing interpretation. Earlier this year, this version already accidentally ended up in a podcast and since then there has been a massive buzz around this track. Mario formed a massive bomb nobody can resist out of the deep Sargas. Normally, we are more reluctant with this kind of statement, but this tune gives us the self- confindence to say: hit alert!

High five to our 5th edition of Livingroom Techno, our annual winterish concept compilation for cozy house and techno, produced and arranged to be listened to ideally on a bearskin rug in front of a crackling fire. Apart from several highlights out of our repertoire, all fitting under our stylistic roof of Livingroom Techno, we again have a few exclusive titles on board, of which we are more than proud. We start with Sam K’s "Elido“, a tune with a proper buzz on it since it was played by Mano Le Tough in his first Boiler Room last summer. A super deep and intoxicating affair. Next up is the warm and alluring "Clausius“ by Musumeci from Sicily. His releases on his own label can be found in almost every set by Dixon and Âme, making him to a real insider tip. Timelapse, the Berlin-based Italian duo. has delivered a genuine Connaisseur track with "Next Day“, perfectly arranged and full of emotions. The last exclusive title is by the two Italian brothers from Mathame. "Hologram Child“ is full of abstract beauty. A special track which takes you on a journey.

When you have been running a label as long as we have, it occasionally happens that you have releases up the pipeline which take ages to be released. The remix EP for Patrick Chardronnet’s 2013 hit "All I Got“ is such a case. Already planned for more than a year ago, it has taken this long to be ready for release. But, as good things sometimes simply need time, we think it was well worth the wait and are now more than happy with the result: Four remixes in total, three for "All I Got“ and one for "Random Beauty“, make the release complete, now.

We kick off with the Audiofy Hook Remix, a characteristic interpretation for the super simpatico and world-traveling DJ-duo and long-time friends of Connaisseur. Super tripping, massively grooving and big in love of details. Thank you boys!

Next up is man of the moment Musumeci. His take on "All I Got“ is a super catchy pearl in his own distinctive arp-driven style with touching and tender melodies. A tune for your heart and soul which we are sure will be a regular in many sets in the next months.
The third and last version of "All I Got“ is by German rising star Schlepp Geist, who just had a strong open air track with "Tura“ on our summer V.A. “BBQ Techno 5”. His interpretation, screaming "RAVE ALERT", will destroy dance foors. Massive alarm sounds and a demanding groove make this tune a peaktime guarantor.

The fourth and last track is a remix for "Random Beauty“, the timeless b-side of the original release, which we consider one of the best tracks Patrick Chardronnet has ever have made. Responsible for the remix here is Anthony Middleton, one half of Audiofy and the amazing US act Dance Spirit, well known for their releases on Audiofy’s sublime Supernature label.Their remix is a pure trip taking you far away. Their sensitive dealing with the parts shows their big respect towards the original work. A special track for a special moment.

In May 2014, we released Of Norway's debut album "Accretion“, a very personal and sophisticated piece of work. It was recorded together with several friends and many natural instruments, giving the album its unique feeling.

In the beginning of 2015, we started releasing the frist remixes of the album. The first was for “Spirit Lights”, the wonderful title with the amazing vocals by Linnea Dale. We are very thankful that Diynamic's Adriatique and our man Lehar gave their best to create two remixes which dominated the dancefloors for many months this year. Adriatique's version was an Ibiza regular this season, a guarantor for open-airs and beaches, while Lehar's darker version put you in another state of mind. 

The next remix release was for “It's You”, including the haunting vocals by the Norwegian singer Lois. Eric Volta made one of his remarkable fairytale house tracks, a track as though it were made for events like Burning Man, while The Drifter stayed a bit closer to the original, but created an energy you can not resist.

Next, we held the remix competition for “It's You” in cooperation with Beatport and can look back to many amazing interpretations of which we released three as a special digital product.

Now, we are happy to present the full remix album, including five new remixes by friends of Of Norway and the label.

We start with Patrick Zigon from Lake Constance in southern Germany, owner of the lovely Biotop Label and great DJ. He interpreted “Accretion”, the title track of the album and turned it into a jazzy influenced space jam.

Next up are the fabulous boys from Dance Spirit. They took the ballad “Two Black Cats” and transformed it into a trippy 10am monster. We have had this version on our table for quite some time already, so we are more than happy that it is now finally being released.
The next remix is by Norwegian producer, sound engineer and good friend of Of Norway Terje Saether. He remixed the catchy “Love is Over” with its demanding bassline, emotive strings and piano sprinkles.

“Let The End Chime” was one of the last tracks of the album and as the play on words already describes, chimes are the central element of the track. The German-Canadian duo Moosefly, who already delivered the amazing “Between The Lines” on our summer VA BBQ Techno 5, worked around this element to create a brilliant tune with lovely attention to detail.

The last exclusive title is Of Norway's own live version of the track "Trampoline" with vocals by Malin Pettersen, a 10min live jam, recorded at Kater Blau in Berlin this year.
We are very thankful for all these lovely interpretations. All remixers did an amazing job. Chapeau!
