This one is dedicated to all the downhearted folks out there. Depression and any mental illness can always be a burden but you don’t have to go it alone. I included the SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration) Hotline number so that anyone that may try to comfort their sorrows with this song can always be reminded that there is help out there, and while it isn’t always the easiest thing in the world to ask for help, it will always be there when you’re ready. This song is an interpretation of how a depressive episode feels to me: it starts off fine, even cheery and then something starts to feel off and before you know it you’ve plunged into a dark place that might feel like an eternity with nobody to help but eventually with a little help from therapy or just putting yourself around others or using creativity as an outlet or even just remembering to be mindful and talking yourself down it can pass and before you know it you’re right back to your cheery normal self. I implore you all to be kind to everyone you meet, don’t tell a sad person that things could be worse or that they simply shouldn’t be sad, it’s never that easy. Depression is NOT the same as sadness. So be kind to one another and always lend an ear or a smile or a hug when you can and if this song can help at least one person then that’s more than I can ever ask. Love you guys!
