Intentionality is at the heart of everything @josh-tong-853965980 does. He takes a methodical approach to mixing techno, layering tracks to create immersive soundscapes. Josh's passion for techno began after attending a DIY show in an abandoned warehouse, an experience that inspired him to immerse himself in Chicago's thriving underground scene. His experiences on the dancefloor continue to shape his style of mixing. He brings a contagious energy to every set and has earned a reputation as a highly respected performer, with a residency at Format.

This mix showcases his trademark sound - deep and hypnotic, featuring mind-bending grooves that propel you into uncharted sonic territory. Recorded live at Podlasie Club on 10/19/23.

Music has always been a means of coping with the otherness and hybridity Shanti experienced throughout her life. While she is a philosopher and writer, Shanti has felt limited by words and has recognized the transcendent ability of music to express abstract concepts, states of consciousness, and conflicting emotions. She explores philosophical themes of existential despair and ambiguity through eerie, atmospheric and bass-heavy techno, angsty industrial/dark wave, squishy acid, and longing lofi-ambient soundscapes. Her sets weave a story of the simultaneous despair and yearning that are intertwined with the human condition while building a necessary tension leading to a cathartic release of emotions. 

Shanti has a monthly show, "Liminal" on Beloved Radio (starting in April). She also plays in the DJ duo, Evanti with Plumb.ee and hosts Otherworldly Ambiguity, an experience centered around the phenomenon of occupying the spaces in between and outside of pre-existing concepts and rigid categories.

From the moment Adam Pecho first discovered techno, he has been creating music. He was brought on as a Format Recordings resident in 2018, but his productions date back further when he accidentally experienced the underground firsthand.

Adam immediately bought some gear and began making beats, deep-diving into production over time and discovering new-to-him artists that began to shape his own artistic direction. His sound is rooted in techno, occasionally venturing into ambient, drone and abstract territory, placing carefully designed elements into his productions.

Since then, Adam has played alongside heavy hitters such as Fjaak and 999999999, as well as artists such as Lucy, Rrose, and Adriana Lopez.

Building a catalog of releases with diverse collaborations on various labels is where Adam has set his sights. His future is in exploring new creative outlets where his uniquely dark sound can be experienced by others.
