The Neighborhood 12th episode features a guest mix from Victoria Rawlins! - Rising from the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles, Victoria Rawlins connects to the heart of underground dance music with warehouse-inspired energy focused on celebrating worldwide club culture. She cut her teeth spinning records in some of Hollywood’s darkest punk rock dive bars, but it was her affinity for firey disco edits, indie dance sounds, and forward-thinking house beats that brought her to bigger dancefloors. Soon, she established several local residencies where she earned her reputation as a tastemaking selector with the skills to move a crowd. Victoria’s trailblazing style caught the attention of dance music heavy-hitter Claude VonStroke who personally entrusted her to take over hosting duties of the long-running flagship radio show for Dirtybird records. With broadcasts on SiriusXM and hundreds of radio syndicates around the world, she now plays her favorite new tracks and introduces a wide variety of talents in electronic music to millions of listeners every week. When Victoria is not behind the decks or hosting the radio show, she’s in the studio working on original productions, remixes and edits. Her work as a producer, vocalist and artist has been supported worldwide by notable underground DJ’s so be sure to look out for fresh tunes and notable collaborations coming from this unique talent soon.

The name Pillwax came from a Hungarian (Pilvax) coffee shop which was existed in the 19th century. In this place, artists gathered sharing ideas and preparing against the government not long after the 1848 opening revolution happened in Hungary.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong.
