Remastered 2023 !

Here is the brand new album from Astral Waves, aka DJ Zen.

Altar Records offers you a trip to the land of the Thousand and One Nights with "La Danse de la Lune" (Moon Dance).
This album is natural, organic with a lot of instrumentation. Almost all of the instruments were recorded in the studio between 2015 and 2020, specifically to create the unique and groovy vibe of this album.
You may recognize some song names here, already released in compilations. They have been completely reworked here.

The work on this album was considerable: it took 5 years to achieve it in order to be satisfied with the results...It played in Astral Waves live sets at outdoor festivals in Canada and Europe and received many positive feedback. Gaudi really liked "Lullaby for the Godchild" at Samsara 2018.

All the thanks go to the fabulous artists who put their hands in the dough: Project Æolia on the flute, DJ Parhladji aka Patrick Bernard and Lydia on vocals, Rachel on the flute on track # 5, Elea for the vocals and instruments in the remixes as well as Sufi's Life and Merlin also for their composition work. A big thanks to Amani Friend from Desert Dwellers for his trust and patience as well as Louis from Suduaya for his amazing guitar play on track # 5.

By the year of 2021 Takkra has evolved into a 7 piece live band as the core team joined by 3 vocalist: Molek Keri, Julcsi Szomr&aacute;ky and Donna Terra.

Consequently vocals have become more prominent and the live shows turned into real ecstatic medicinal therapy seances.

During our jams the songs have naturally reshaped in terms of arrangements, structures and melodies, the overall vibe has drifted towards a more organic, live sound.

Reactivated was recorded during several live sessions and gigs between 2012 and 2023. 
We felt it is important to share these tunes in their raw, unpolished form that perhaps capture some of the magic of the live Takkra shows.

It may tickle your kundalini, surface your shadows, awaken your strength, and lift you into sweaty shivers of ecstasy. At least, that's what this particular collection of music by epic and rare independent artists, mixed LIVE in Asheville at the November Full Moon Gathering 2017, has done for me. 

I left the stage completely soaked... 

Thank you to the hundreds of amazing dancers and lovers in Asheville that made this set an absolute pleasure to perform. I might blush next time we see each other...

NOTE: There was one technical malfunction during the set which cut off all sound. I used it as an excuse for a rewind during my LIVE set, but for your listening pleasure, I cut out the moment of silence (and loving cheers) in post production and restored the original position of the mix.
