Decoded Sundays - Utah Saints

The first One Series show of 2015 took place on 23rd May at one of the finest clubs in North America, Beta, in association with awesome local crew, The Fantastic Hosts. The massive 4-stack Funktion One rig is legendary worldwide, and was an absolute thrill to take over for the night.

Beta were an amazing team to work with on the night, with everyone going the extra mile to  make this a truly special one. Special mention goes to Eric Basquez for building me a special touchscreen controller to enable me to show various words and short poems on the big LED screens through the night, which I suspect will be the first stepping stone on the road to live sets as Simon Shackleton that will, all being well, premier at the end of 2015.

Another spectacular One Series show with some inspirational collaborators. I hope you enjoy the mix, which as ever is a warts & all recording of the entire night :)

The One Series [DEN014] - Simon Shackleton - Denver

Uplifting dance track with scratch vocals, synths, sequencers, 303, drums, percussion, samples, and fx.

Indie Electronica # 5 [SCRATCH VOCALS]

Some hard defined break beat Orbital style dance rave synthy track. Sequenced on Digitakt and tracked to Ableton Live track by track as I go along, as I rely much more on the midi timing from Overbridge than on my Motu 828X (only acting as a mixer here). The timing  difference is huge. Sounds are taken from the Xtreme Lead card in my Proteus 2000 and also the Protozoa library (Orbit bank) on my ESI 4000 sampler. Such huge treasure for these uplifting rave sounds that I had totally forgotten about.

The Glastonbury Festival is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts that takes place near Pilton, Somerset, UK. In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas.

This mix was part of Annie Nightingale's Glastonbury Breakbeat special back in June 2005.
