This song was originally written in 1772. Don't think I am violating any copyrights. The story behind the hymn "Amazing Grace" is that it was written by John Newton in 1772, reflecting his own journey from a slave trader to a devout Christian after a terrifying storm at sea in 1748. The lyrics express gratitude for God's mercy and grace, saving him from his sinful past to a life of redemption and service. The hymn became a powerful anthem of faith and freedom.

Maestro Ennio Morricone composed Chi Mai in 1971 for the Italian movie Maddalena (Chi Mai means Who Ever in Italian). It was also the soundtrack of the beautiful ending of 1981 French film Le Professionnel starring Jean-Paul Belmondo who insisted on reusing this music. Chi Mai was also reused in some other movies and TV series and is part of French pop culture thanks to a memorable dog food TV ad for Royal Canin, where the music is playing while a dog is running in slow motion.

The piano is a Klavins Una Corda 64-key upright with felt.
