Neurotransmits (anagram of ‘number stations’) is an electroacoustic composition that explores the eerie and mysterious world of number stations. Featuring sounds from ‘The Buzzer’, ‘The Pip’, Lincolnshire Poacher, among others from different countries. The sounds of the number stations are woven together with the electronic hum and other electronic apparatus, evoking a sense of cold war operations. Other sounds mimic capacitors discharging such as bullets and bouncing balls.

Cláudio de Pina is a sound artist, improviser, organist and composer. He is the Titular Organist of the historical organ at the Parish of Ajuda in Lisbon and a researcher in GIMC (CESEM). He holds a DAS in contemporary organ music and a MA distinguished with the Dean’s Honour Roll 2018. Currently he is a PhD candidate and FCT fellow in the same field (ESML/FCSH). He has studied at the Gregorian Institute of Lisbon, Hot Jazz Club and in Physics Engineering (FCUL) along with further studies with Adrian Moore, Åke Parmerud, Annette Vande Gorne, Barry Truax, Gilles Gobeil, Hans Tutschku and Trevor Wishart.

The Deep Wireless 18 Compilation Album is produced by New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA) for the 2024 edition of the annual Deep Wireless Festival of Radio & Transmission Art. The works on the album 'reimagine' the voices and sounds of broadcast transmission and uncover the ghosts of the ether and the latent musicality between station signals. Featured on this album are works from Canada, Portugal and the UK by Bekah Simms, Keith de Mendonca, Cláudio de Pina, Martín Rodriguez, Kat Estacio, AJ Cornell and Rutmeat.

An exploration of sounds derived from a piano, Flux Hammer employs sounds of physically altered piano strings. Source samples were prepared acoustically and manipulated through various processes, such as convolution, resonance filtering, and granular synthesis.

Let us imagine a small invented world, a micro universe where everything exists... matter, energy, spirit, telluric movements, mysteries, natural and supernatural forces. That world is whole and from afar, whoever watches, sees it as a living ocean.
This work was composed in the Musiques-Recherches studio and is dedicated to Annette Vande Gorne and Francis Dhomont.

La Mer Emeraude

Svart Hål is the Swedish word for black hole. This piece was composed for the International Electroacoustic Composition Masterclass with Swedish composer Åke Parmerud. The piece is an homage to Ingmar Bergman, hence the title and the quotation in the beginning. The quotation is from the film Vargtimmen (1968) “The Hour of the Wolf”). This Swedish psychological horror film delves upon the themes of insanity, relationships and surreal elements with allusions to the werewolf legend. Vargtimmen is the moment when most births and deaths occurs, so it relates to time and the cycle of life. A black hole also represents a cycle of death and life, besides being shrouded by mystery and intimately connected with the notion of time. The quote on this piece belongs to Swedish actor Max Von Sydow, here he talks about time in the beginning of the film, waiting for the Sun to rise. 	Coincidentally, this piece was composed during the time EHT team captured the first image of a black hole (in the center of M87 galaxy), lead by Katie Bouman, in April, 2019. Several sounds of black holes where used, the sound representation of two black holes merging that contains a high pitched glissando and radio hum from several black holes  (taken from the free based sound folio of NASA). Other sounds, like clocks, bells and cuckoo clock represent the time passing and are always accelerating, decelerating and being frozen in time mimicking the effect of a naked singularity. 
	Puredata was used to create the drones, spacialization and granulation, Nuendo was used for mixing.
