"Higher Tonight" with Monika Santucci.

I remember discovering artists years and years ago such as Above & Beyond, Arty, Jason Ross, & many more - Even back when W&W were releasing their older work, I knew I had fallen in love with what some people would consider a mix of trance and progressive house. “Higher Tonight” sparked from my inspiration by these sounds and artists.

After writing the original structure for it, I wanted to bring on a vocalist who really matched the euphoric, uplifting feel of it. I had been a fan of Monika’s work for awhile already and when she crossed my mind for someone to collaborate with on this I instantly knew she would be a great fit, and luckily enough she connected with the music aswell! Quite quickly the full song came together and I went on to spend months refining it.

To me this song is about escapism, that feeling of adventure when you are young and going to some of your first shows, not just a night out but a connection with that magic you feel seeing an artist perform that’s music impacts you.

The first episode of my mix series "Dreamlining"

"Dreamlining is the systematic process of outlining your ideal lifestyle and making a plan to realize your dreams."

Before getting into production in 2012, I started off making mixes on what I believe was called a Hercules MK4 with Virtual DJ. The mixes were trash but I kept working and eventually moved up to a Numark NS6 with Serato. At this point I was making good mixes that my friends genuinely enjoyed, collaborating with other friends on sets and almost treating these mixes like my “art”. After playing shows for awhile on the controller and falling in love with making my own music,
I moved onto CDJ’s and basically stopped releasing mixes. Im glad this happened because it helped me grow as a producer, but I think its time to start this series and show you all what I bring to a live performance.

Every musician remembers when it all began for them. It’s like a revelation, they say, that first time you hear something. Artistic inspiration, like a
crazy spark that burns and burns. It’s also the sound that lives in Vancouver
born producer Adam Pearce’s music. He’d call it “melodic bass,” but his blending of progressive house, trance, and chillstep transcends genre. This is the sound of sun kissed crowds moving together. This is music to get lost in. Adam began producing seriously back in 2011 after discovering artists like Porter Robinson, Skrillex, and Deadmau5. So he got to work, Learning how to tell a story with music. Pearce then earned his live debut by winning a local DJ contest. Doors started to open, and his dedication didn’t go unnoticed. He was offered the opening spot for bass heavyweights Zeds Dead at Vancouver’s iconic Vogue Theatre. Labels such as Monstercat, Heaven Sent, Ophelia & DeadBeats release his music. Other DJs play it, Zeds Dead, Alison Wonderland, Arty & Slander. Along the way, Pearce opens for The Chainsmokers, What So Not, Feed Me, Ghastly, k?d, and many others. His music resonates, but Pearce isn’t content unless he’s challenging himself. “I just want to make the music I'd want to hear” he says. If a crowd wants to feel something real, then inspiration will never be too far away. After recently performing at EDCLV in 2024, Adam has a bright path ahead with momentum only increasing.
