We are happy to share the full closing set from Bonanza 2024 in all its glory, recorded on the Sunday night into Monday morning, from none other than Jane Fitz.

The closing is always a special time, especially for a non-stop, intimate event like Bonanza. When we managed to convince Jane to come to our little jungle riverside rave-up, we knew it was the slot for her. You can feel the emotion and energy on display over these 4 glorious hours; dive in and bask in the sun-kissed squelch.

RIGO navigates the margins of the club, where textures thicken and tempo takes its time. Influenced by old school body music, hypnotic techno and rhythms steeped in a subtle tension, he crafts sets that are both deep, organic and filled with contrast. His selections unfold slowly, balancing restrained melancholy, obsessive percussion and more spiritual inclinations. There is no forced climax, only a continuous progression designed to induce a physical and mental state of trance.

Beyond the A13 - music from the outer reaches of East London and Essex

Growing up on the edge of London, where the east end meets Essex, and industrial wasteland meets suburbia, my life was always reliant on four main arteries to get me to school, to work or to parties: the A13, the District Line, the London-Southend railway and the number 5 bus route. Running from the heart of London to the edges of the Thames estuary - I can’t imagine how much time I’ve spent on these trains, buses and roads looking out the window, at a landscape totally bereft of beauty, but to me, somehow always full of life and wonder.

This mix consists entirely of music that was either made or released within the areas touched or bordered by these transport links, between 1990-1997… from Canning Town, Grays, Stratford, Horndon, East Ham, Benfleet and other stops in between. Why dedicate a mix to this area? Because this is music from where I grew up, from when I was growing up. Most of it was ignored or overlooked or just forgotten - a mix of progressive house, trance, acid house, techno, breakbeat, tribal and deep house, all sounds that I like to combine when I’m DJing. It’s the sound of home…

We know will get out of this together very soon. In the meantime, we have create this new digital platform called HOUSE OF MARICAS: the art of staying at home, where we will be doing live streamings, digital content, virtual exhibitions, challenges and interviews. Here we will be showcasing different queer / music / art content, created with a bunch of very talented artists / activists, for you to enjoy at home. The aim of this, apart of creating entertainment and learnings for our isolations, is to support local artists, that are losing their jobs due to this crisis. We created this platform to try to help our family of queer artists, that's why we kindly ask you, that if you enjoy our content and can afford it, to please make a donation to our paypal account. This donations will be divided entirely among all the artists involved.

Credited as the inventor of afrobeat along with his old bandmate Fela Kuti, Tony Allen pioneered a drumming style that led him to being described as "the greatest living drummer" by Brian Eno in 2010, an opinion rarely countered. Planet Euphorique is the name of @d-tiffany’s label, but also a perfect summation of her sound: musically she reworks rave, euphoria, trance, electro, breakbeat and techno into all out emotional onslaughts that get hands in the air and chests swelling with joy. The Canadian - who also runs the xpq? label - has always got things done on her own terms, from running parties in her own house in Vancouver to making dance music with the gear she had previously used as part of a band via setting up her own women-focused Intersessions DJ school.

This week she treats us to an extra special two hour selection that will take you to the heart of a rave in your front room. It’s a mix that bristles with life, from dusty and teary-eyed breakbeats that are shrouded in nostalgia to more clipped and kicking techno. The mixing is tight and urgent and after initially serving up plenty of lush moments of melody and IDM introspection, it grows all the more direct and unhinged later on.
