Human beings are entities of two incongruent natures.  This song is about the contradiction that is to be human.  We feel temperature.  We feel sounds.  We feel flavors, we feels colors.  We feel each of the stimuli received by our senses in the way that we feel being in a warm blanket when the air outside is cold.

  Our instruments take a sample and we infer a product that is immeasurable.  We possess tools for such distinct analysis of light, that we coordinate objects by the way that they reflect it, based on perception but are unable to describe the subtle variations.

  However, when the need to articulate to others or even ourselves these variations, we require measurement.  Articulation is tantamount to analytical growth in the organism as well as the species.  It is this need for growth that encourages this second nature of creating metrics to govern our actions.  Universal coordinates do not exist as we hurtle through an immeasurable cosmos and yet we require this metric and others to navigate.  This latter nature is so in contention with the first that it must be explained that time does not exist.  It is the construct of our attempt to measure the process of entropy.  While all that we really do is feel everything people will argue this point and use articulation and measurement to do so.

  It is likely that if we as a species, cannot learn to meld these two distinct natures into an intuitive whole; we will destroy ourselves with a foundation of oppositional disorder.  Both of these paths are forms of observation. Think of the masses of philosophers that squandered their time on this earth for the sole purpose of finding why we are here.  Ultimately, the point of living is to live: to observe.
