Here's a melody I've been working on off and on for about 12 years...and it all came together this afternoon when my male vocalist asked me if I had anything "new".  I told him I'd been working on this melody for a while and he told me to send it to him.  One thing led to another, I already had the mandolin track down.  He put down the rest and the fiddle is my own.

Greenland’s Glacier is a folk sea-chanty inspired by a 2024 NASA study showing how glacial melt from Greenland fuels ocean life. Performed entirely by a male vocalists layering vocals, foot-stomps, and hand-claps. Inspired by my youngest son’s generation and their surprising shift away from smartphones, this 110 BPM indie pop/synthwave track blends retro flair with modern dance energy. Chiptune leads echo classic Nokia ringtones, lo-fi drums and vinyl crackle give it analog warmth, and jangly guitars ride alongside shimmering synths. Lyrically, it’s a celebration of freedom from constant pings and scrolling—a “retrotech revival” where Gen Z swaps apps for keypads, privacy, and pure connection.
