Stil & Bense feat. Orbit Aeolian return to the label for their 4th release. Their last outing back in February 2020 was received to high acclaim - with huge support from the big boy brigade at the time. With their long-awaited return to ICONYC, the duo delivers a slice of early spring vibes titled 'Signal in the Noise' featuring the wonderful vocals of Orbit Aeolian. The original track kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through as 80's inspired beats and harmonies are in full swing. The track twists effortlessly throughout, while Orbit's sultry vocals sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. Another classy homecoming from Stil & Bense.

Matchy, who needs no introduction created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the 80's stimulated vibe keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication. "Essential stuff!"

Next up is Allies for Everyone, the native New Yorker known for his polished sound, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh - This mystical touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove.

Last but not least we have a remix courtesy of our favorite Canadian, Las Von who delivers a trademark electronica-soaked rework with infectious chords, laidback drums and smooth breakdown. It's all about the groove, cool downtempo vibes and the suave beats that are working their magic around Las Von's wonderfully arranged keys that create an irresistible vibe while taking the mind on a trip.

Savrun Brothers - Quid Pro Quo [Soundteller Records]

It is no stretch to say that D Nox and Beckers are an integral part of the global dance music scene. Not only are they known for their 17 year long collaboration delivering high energy main room bombs, but as solo artists, they've carved names recognised as a stamp of quality around the world. We cannot be more excited to host the German duo for their debut Balance Music release, a dream like progressive workout that showcases their years of experience.

On the original version of 'Deep in the Dark', the reflective vocals of LENN V s is the perfect accompaniment to the single's deep yet driving energy. The warm, running bass playfully bounces off the dense production, while a bittersweet melody creates a narrative that will reward multiple listens.

Fur Coat deliver a remix that is vintage yet forward thinking in equal spades. The trademark tight and punchy drums, house a driving bass line that feels huge. The vocals feel more urgent, while the melody is aimed straight at the heartstrings. It also features a satisfying breakdown that reminds of the halcyon years of progressive house.

On Fur Coat's Dub mix, a more pronounced melody replaces the vocals, allowing more space for dancers to lose themselves in. If you listen closely, you should be able to lose yourself in the mix too.

The latest release from Clubsonica Records welcomes Juan Sapia back to the label for a new EP alongside Hasith who makes his label debut. Hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Argentina, Juan Sapia has been on a steady rise since first appearing in 2017. As a favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Buenos Aires resident has compiled an impressive resume, landing releases on top tier imprints such as Beat Boutique, Or Two Strangers and Sudbeat. Meanwhile, enjoying similar success is Sri Lankan talent Hasith. Now based in Oman and heading up the Serendeep imprint, Hasith has also had his music championed by Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, with releases coming courtesy of onedotsixtwo, One Of A Kind and Stellar Fountain. Having collaborated once previously on a release for Mango Alley, Juan and Hasith now build on their creative synergy with 'Masana | Embrace', alongside remixes from Sean and Dee and Mariano Favre.

Beginning with 'Masana' you get a feel for just how strong the creative synergy between these two talents is. Featuring a dark progressive minded narrative, Juan and Hasith craft a foundation of tough beats, crunchy rhythms and devilish effects. Its robust low end is full of character and shape, positively charged and perfectly playing off the duo's shapeshifting electronics. Coming to full fruition during the main break, a haze of vivid harmonics and emerging pads unite for a rousing crescendo, perfectly setting up a finale of astral synths and metallic melodies. The companion piece 'Embrace' follows suit with its ominous yet exhilarating energy. Darker undertones power the undulating groove, while esoteric effects and timely tonal shifts should make for some epic dance floor moments. Playful arps lighten the mood across the first act, playing off a wave of buoyant rhythms leading into the main break. Tense and exciting in equal measure, the centrepiece melts down to a bed of colourful textures, paving the way for a finale that is both electric and emotive.

Providing the first interpretation of 'Masana' are Sean and Dee who make their label debut. The Italian duo have impressed since forming their partnership in 2017. Key releases on Beatfreak Recordings, FSOE, ICONYC and UV have established them as one of progressive music's most talented duos. Continuing what has been a prolific 2021, Sean and Dee now make their much anticipated Clubsonica debut with a powerful rendition of 'Masana'. Taking a cue from the original while adding a melodic techno state of mind, the duo carves out a muscular groove adorned with fiery sonics and charged rhythmic themes. Sweeping effects and crunchy arps push the momentum forward, before melting down into a cavernous break. Tension filled, the centrepiece is one of many highlights, with its cinematic flair and exhilarating build ending in a trail of sonic decay and commanding re-entry.

The second and final interpretation of 'Masana' is provided by Mariano Favre. With a career that now spans well over a decade, the Argentinean artist is a veteran of his country's electronic underground. Releases on Balkan Connection, Dopamine White and Perspectives Digital highlight his short but well-kept discography. Having made his Clubsonica debut with a contribution to the label's 'ADE 2020 Sampler', Mariano now returns with a rousing rendition of 'Masana'. Engaging from the outset, warm beats and meditative pulses converge for a sultry foundation, while crisp percussion and hazy overlays bring rhythm and texture to the groove. Building an engaging narrative, the main arp and sizzling underbelly segue smoothly into the main break, where the arp percolates amidst a rising wall of noise, before a rush of drums sparks an energy bridge into an epic finale. A powerful remix from Mariano which rounds out a must have collaborative project from Juan Sapia and Hasith. Don't miss it.

Agnosia Black opens the new year with a much-anticipated single from label boss DJ Choopie and Golan Zocher. The former, based in Israel lays claim to over two decades of production work and releases via long standing imprints such as Bedrock and Yoshitoshi. Meanwhile, Colombian born, Israel based artist Golan Zocher has enjoyed similar success across his five-year career, landing releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Beatfreak and Clubsonica Records. Having worked together previously on a well-received offering for Sol Selectas, Choopie and Golan partner up once again for 'Fine Twist', alongside a remix from Dmitry Molosh.

Although primarily known for their progressive minded productions, Golan and Choopie lean closer to Indie Dance territory on 'Fine Twist'. Its pulsating groove and buoyant beats are full of contour and character, while tranquil arps and sweeping effects build tension as the narrative takes shape. 80's inspired percussion comes in waves, expertly layered as the main melodic theme flows through emotive chord changes, building momentum towards the break. Sitting at the heart of the journey, the melodic interlude provides a unique contrast of meditative qualities and emotional overtones, gently elevating mood as flurries of drums reach a triumphant apex, summoning the groove for a driving finale.

Making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Fine Twist' is Dmitry Molosh. Coming off his most prolific year to date, the Belarus based artist dominated the Beatport Progressive House charts, racking up thirty discography credits across the twelve months, while seeing continued support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. With a resume that includes releases via Replug and Sudbeat Music, Dmitry now adds Agnosia Black to his portfolio with a powerful rendition of 'Fine Twist'. Staying true to the positive vibe of the original, Dmitry puts a progressive lean on the track which lands with resounding success. Flickering arps and clattering percussion blanket a warm, key changing groove, as wispy effects and pulsating rhythms add drive and colour. Spanning over two minutes in length, the main break highlights the piece with hopeful melodies elevating mood, before an underbelly of nostalgic arps provides a smooth bridge into a buzzing drop and suitable poignant finale. Concise in execution and timeless in delivery, it rounds out another stellar collaboration for Golan and Choopie, making for a must have release to begin the year for Agnosia Black.
