This record is about hard sadness and of heartbreak imbued with the humble expressions of the indescribable beauty of this existence which rings true through all of it, for all time. 

Musically, I am compelled toward long-form live improvisations that go on for 20-30 minutes. I then edit and manipulate and polish, carving and sculpting over and over, long days often for months on an album until it becomes a truer version of itself that was not there at conception. Much like life! I then pick the best section for the songs that infer their own structure. Also included on this album are short-form telescopic soundprints where I use a dronier and more layered approach. 

Some very personal meditations make up tracks 5 and 7 and 9 of Homeworld. During a very hard and also heart-breaking beginning to the New Year of 2020 (even before the pandemic!) I recorded the pieces Sadness Too Deep and Ode to Scotty allowing the expressions of both the pain and the beauty which rang so true then, still and always. Supporting the song Ode to Scotty is a long field recording I captured in our apple orchard on the afternoon of March 3, 2020, a full moon with very heavy grey weather. Soon afterwards came the very bad news. Two days later the music was improvised while meditating with these creatures’ songs and was originally a seventeen minute piece. 

Yes. Nature sounds. I am 100% addicted. Waters. Melodic winged-ones. Insects. So cliché and yet it melts my soul good. I love manipulating the recordings into a designed sound sometimes. In consort with the music it just puts me in a trance: when I am playing, when I am editing and afterwards as a listener! The combination of the piano-centric sounds and the earth samples can make one think of the new age style but these are very deliberately poised away from such deliberations to keep something I cannot put my finger on; perhaps a shying away from rhythm or repetitions; rather more like water flowing, moving over rocks; not as a clock ticking or a song singing. The exception is a new color appearing as Emerald Nymphs; this Hipnotic Earth composition uses tempo and bass and drum with inferred and sparse effects, a style I will be expanding with. The older Lakeboat is included here, another strangely hypnotic track whose call for the light of day is answered in Homeworld. I can listen to this track forever, it does something to me. I hope it does to you, too.

Greyscale is set to release it's 18th full length cd and this is by one of the busiest and most well-respected newer stars in the scene, Heavenchord. 'O Theos Einai Agapi' is 9 tracks deep of some of the most floaty and serene tracks in our discography. 'Cloud Forest' opens up with a wonderful example of what's to lie ahead. It's wide open layered chords arc and shimmer over a soothing spatial background. 'Deep Dimensions' is prone to draw out emotions of long lost memories as you drift along to it's echoed-out airy atmosphere. This album isn't fully beatless. There are a few remnants like on 'Summer Grey Session' which introduces a broken tech groove while 'Summer Vibes' has you riding on warm waves of calming and peaceful dub goodness. 'Rare 3' strong chord work shows Heavenchord's adept craftmanship in this genre that is well beyond his years creating music. The depth created in this album might be it's lasting impression. What's not there is as important as what is there. A true shining moment in production!

Summer Vibes

Today's episode of the podcast is a portal that will take you on an adventurous journey with Avsluta as your experienced guide.

Lucie is an artist and performer who shapes magic through sounds. Her organic improvisations create the magic of the present moment. She rose to wider prominence in 2019 with the inclusion of Shape platform as one of 48 selected artists from around the world. Few Czech productions have been heard in local clubs as often as her debut "Skinned Landscape" (XYZ project). Her current track "Mono No Aware" is released on the compilation "and felt like" by our favourite label Knekelhuis. In addition, she is working on a second album with her partner Christian Duka in their joint project Vādin, soon to be released on the London label Utter. Also worth mentioning is her regular show Introspective Electronics on Netil Radio, whose focus underlines her sensitive approach to music.

The sun on the horizon is slowing downtime, and everything but the crickets is dying down. You enter the forest until the forest enters you. The last rays of light engulf the treetops. It is the night of yesterday and today, and the darkness envelops you in solitude. You cross your own shadow and set out on a journey where friends await to celebrate life by dancing together around the fire.

The incomprehensible digital ratios seemed a strange rebus, even for experienced intergalactic wanderers. The stormtrooper squad was already on the way, so all the modulations were done intuitively.

Suddenly, Cat felt something irresistible, not limited by the laws of physics. A surge of energy forced his body to move to the rhythm of the sound-pumping speakers. "Mechatronics!" said Spacelunch with a grin. He had guessed the existence of such engineering solutions. At the right moment, the once-tamed element helped launch the plasma engines. It was enough to rely on hearing.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access.  Don't be mad if I have not replied to your message in the past two years, that's because I never got them ; ) ... You can always reach me here though.

No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
