"Many years ago my friend Dan Nelson (BORON) had this wacky idea to have me record an entire album, make only one cassette copy, then have him throw it into the pacific ocean (in a shock-proof canister that he was going to devise) with instructions inside for what to do/what it was for whoever found it , sort of like an audio message in a bottle. I don't know why this amused him so, but in the end I made the album. He never devised the canister (too expensive) and getting a boat far enough offshore of Oakland to hit a current was also cost prohibitive. The letter at the beginning of each track spells out a sentence in total and the sentence might be spelled backwards (it's been a while). Here is the soundtrack to the ocean trip never taken."
