【佛說四十二章經】〔十六〕『第十五章/請問力明』全一卷。後漢迦葉摩騰（梵 Kāyapamātavga）、竺法蘭（梵 Dharmaraksa）共譯。為我國最早翻譯之佛教經典。收於大正藏第十七冊。全經共有四十二章，故稱四十二章經。每章內容簡短扼要，最長者僅百餘字，最短者二十餘字。經中簡要說明早期佛教之基本教義，重點在說明沙門之證果、善惡諸業、心證、遠離諸欲、人命無常等諸義，闡示出家學道之要義，其說理方式，平易簡明，為佛教之入門書。出〈佛光大辭典〉🙏 【四十二章經】據《高僧傳》卷一載，迦葉摩騰，中天竺人，解大小乘經。竺法蘭，中天竺人，諷誦經典數萬章，為天竺學者之師。東漢明帝夜夢金人，派蔡愔等人到西域求法，於是迎請迦葉摩騰與竺法蘭到中國。二人居於中國第一座佛寺──白馬寺，同譯中國佛教史上第一部經典──《四十二章經》。出〈星雲大師全集〉🙏 經文出〈佛教大正大藏經/經集部T17/0784〉🙏
