Modern Ruin Records proudly presents its debut release "Present Decay EP"
The first release of this London based record label is dedicated in showcasing some of the most talented and innovative artists making moves on the juke/footwork scenes around the world. 
The tracks featured range from warehouse bangers to disco jivers and will accommodate for a wide range of musical preferences and styles.

The first track is a rolling dancefloor destroyer from "Pawn" This regular player on the Shoot Recordings label is no stranger to dirty bass music and each release has seen him go from strength to strength with this newest release "Do U" being no exception.
With its rolling drums and heavy baseline this track drops like a stick of dynamite and will no doubt be followed by some crazy leg movements on dancefloors across the globe. 
 
The second track is from a true pioneer of juke music. His Label "Dynamix Records" has seen him pushing some of the best and brightest artists on the juke scene to date. "Matt Davis" AKA "The Renegades" brings us "The Warmup" a beautiful example of a juke/jungle hybrid which really shows his passion for the old skool while giving it a modern twist. His love for melodic soundscapes and jungle drums rings true throughout this track and will bring joy to all the old skool and new skool ravers alike.   

Track three is from one the most dynamic producers i have ever come across, it seems there is no style of music this man cannot make. Better known for his disco and house record labels "Vorres" AKA "sccucci manucci" has been a big part of the music industry for many years now and his releases span from deep house to garage to dubstep. "One of these old days" is a beautiful soul gospel take on juke and has a truly unique and a melodic sound that you will want to play again and again.   

Finally we have a brilliant upbeat disco/juke edit from "Sideswipe". This track would be just as at home on any disco dancefloor as it would be at a warehouse rave. "Be With U" has all the groove and funk anyone could ask for while still staying true to the juke format. "MUKATSUKU" label owner "Nik Weston" has already shown the track some love and incorporated this new sound into his future disco/funk sets. This final track rounds off a truly innovative and exciting EP which is one not to be missed.

Quentin Hiatus returns to Translation Recordings with a vengeance, delivering four vibrant,
dancefloor-igniting tracks on the 'Passive Boycott' EP.
  
Up first is title-track 'Passive Boycott,' whose serene pads provide the perfect calm before
a surging bass drop that rides atop shuffling glitch percussion, crushing everything in its
path. Next, Quentin rolls out the drums on 'Obsessive Nature,' a slice of rugged, tribal
futurism with a punishing 808 bass stomp of uncharted magnitude. The pace lets up to a
modest 160 BPM on 'Under It All,' where a warm Rhodes piano keys and percolating low end
frequencies set things up for the final track -'Keep It Gangster,' an infectious halfstepper with 
West Coast hip hop flavor and ample jolts of electrifying mid-range bass.

From peak-hour dancefloor madness to a head-nodding 85 BPM, the tracks on the 'Passive 
Boycott' EP showcase Quentin Hiatus' dynamic musical range and knack for blending the

Modern Ruin Records proudly presents our second vinyl release "BRAIN MUSIC EP" from "SKUBI" 

A fairly new artist on the juke/bass music scene SKUBI, a 23 year old producer from Dayton in Ohio is looking to make a name for himself.

Taking some heavy influences from juke, southern hip hop, UK bass music and the sound of the Midwest, Brain music has all the delayed hand claps and hip hop vocals that any hip hop junkie or trap fan could wish for, but Skubi still manages to keep a future bass sound while running at 160bpm and creates a truly unique and original style that will attract a wide spectrum of musical tastes.
Both of Skubi’s tracks are extremely original and well rounded productions and are already receiving acclaim from some big names including OM Unit, Moresounds & Sarah Farina. 
One thing is for sure Skubi’s tracks are guaranteed to have heads nodding, hips gyrating and feet shuffling from here to Mars and back again. 

For the first remix we have selected Norway’s finest SLICK SHOOTA.
With tracks signed to Mad decent & loose squares and his first vinyl EP out earlier last year, slick has proven time a and time again that he can consistently deliver to the people what they want to hear, and this time is no different. 
With what seems to be inspired by the resent dub war being waged by various artists and producers all over the net, Slick Shoota’s remix of Brain music kicks off to an all out Jungle stomper! With its rolling drums and classic jungle dub samples Slick gives the track a brilliant 90’s warehouse rave feel while still sounding completely new and fresh. 

For the second remix we have chosen the very talented HOUSE OF BLACK LANTERNS.
Dylan Richards, AKA Zilla, AKA King Cannibal, AKA House of Black lanterns has got a résumé that would send most producers weak at the knees. He has both digital and vinyl releases from some of the best labels in the business including Ninja Tunes, Warp and Houndstooth. Not to mention being hand picked by Bjork and Liam Hewlett to work on their musical projects. 
The House Of Black Lanterns Remix of Wet has managed to beautifully balance the sound of the vinyl, with Dylan offering up a pulsating chugger of a juke track. With a beat like a hypnotically thumping heart this melodic slow-fast rendition of Wet perfectly rounds off the musical journey.

Modern Ruin’s next offering is a 3 track EP by Russian producer, Colorhythm

Title track “Phenomenon” is a sombre halftime outing at 160 beats per minute. Mellow sounds and metallic percussions sweep in and out of the ambience while a retrospective melody plays out in the progression, setting the tone for the rest of the EP.
The second track, “Evermore”, is another emotional outing that really captures Colorhythm’s production style. It evokes the emotion of hope elegantly while doubling as an uplifting and soulful dance track.
The closing track, “Take Me Down”, is Colorhythm’s parting gift. The vocal is peppered strategically throughout the track while a warm melody and catchy breaks set the foundation for a fitting finale to this release.
