The core focus of the recording is an exchange between my mother and I at my home on Mother's Day. Additional vocals unknowingly contributed by my daughters and younger sister.

Cosmos - This Is A Voice

The Missing Chapter Collective; a group of young, black feminist researchers that I had co-mentored for 7 months (until January 2016) in my capacity as Archive Project Coordinator for Autograph ABP. The Collective were accepted in March 2016 to participate at the Archive Matters Conference: Queer, Feminist and Decolonial Encounters, Goldsmiths, University of London, 3 June 2016. 

The group, represented on this occasion by Kariima Ali, Lara Akinnawo, Heather Agyepong, Shanice Martin and Abira Hussein; set themselves the task of beginning to formulate, describe, and outline their Collective intentions (all coming from very different positions of interest) of the kind of work that they'd like to focus and develop as a Collective, and the required conditions, post their experiences at Autograph ABP. 

Slightly daunted by the prospect of having to formally communicate their ideas in an academic setting, the session turned very quickly into an intimate group discussion with our audience (eventually 5 people!). The questions set/responded to were: 

1. How can artists take back control of archives?
2. How can archives provide healing to us as women of colour?

This recording is unedited, and was recorded from my phone, in place of the edirol that had been provided, but didn't work. No microphones were provided, so the audio levels are unstable but very much audible.
