First up is Hesse Groove, a scintillating bubbler from Banana Hill’s Cervo. Typical of Cervo’s productions, this track samples a wide variety of sounds, with a pulsing beat and a mean bassline that, when combined with some jazzy chords, give you the sense of wandering around somewhere undiscovered late at night.

Next up is The Gentleman from newcomer Chambers. This tune begins with a Fela Kuti sample, before a catchy-as-hell double bass riff drops and feverous percussion is added. Mr Kuti’s saxophone and vocals provide the breakdown, before a broken house beat is accompanied by reggae-style dub delay and filtering - all making for a guaranteed head-bobbing experience.

On the flip we move onto Market by RGB – a producer trio made up of Big Peace, Cutwerk and Szajna. Big names in their own right, this collaboration demonstrates more of a dancefloor sound. A commotion of rhythmic west-meets-world percussion is layered, before a chopped-up vocal sample appears. Like the title suggest, the track conjures up the experience of walking through a busy market in warmer climates.

The closing track comes from So Flute’s Yadava with Kadampa 125  - A record sample is chopped up, skewed and placed over some slow funky chords, with each sound perfectly produced and layered for maximum groove. Then, two thirds of the way through, the chords change colour and the Kadampa 125 train winds down towards the end of its journey - the perfect way to bring the label’s first release to a close.

Ad Hoc celebrates its 10th release with two remixes from acclaimed producer Nymad.

The Manchester-based producer released an EP on Ad Hoc last year, with support from BBC Radio, Homoelectric and Worldwide FM DJs.

Following a sold out headline live show in Manchester, he returns with two remixes from Ad Hoc’s current and forthcoming roster.

First up is his take on ‘Eternal City’ taken from Tommy Tickle’s debut EP on Ad Hoc released last year, together with ‘Romance’ taken from the forthcoming debut EP from Hermanito to be released on the label in the Autumn.

Burnt EP is a showcase of ambient mastery - a wistful folktronic collage akin to the mellower stylings of Four Tet, Seb Wildblood and Ross From Friends. Listen for an eternally poised array of mesmeric shuffles and eclectic vocal chops that hint at its creators’ genre-skipping technical expertise.

Slipping between states of rhythmic formality (Duck Tape) and freeform soundscapes (Empting), Burnt EP vibrates on multiple levels. Threads of hip hop and lo-fi house (Burnt) embroider the tracklisting, uncovering a finessed sound that is at once both mellowed and full of intent.
