2013 marks a decade of Y-3 and its pioneering sport-style aesthetic—a look that continues to meld the avant-garde genius of Yohji Yamamoto with the breakthrough innovation of adidas. adidas is pleased to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Y-3 with a compilation album in collaboration with Alex Prat aka Alex from Tokyo (Tokyo Black Star, World Famous NYC) and 14 innovative electronic music producers, with CD and vinyl sets specially packaged with artwork by PL Studio.

Y-3 presaged the contemporary obsession with designer athletic wear by being the first to blur the boundaries of style and sport. The music on this compilation achieves a similar balance, bringing together dance music icons as well as fresh faces from the world of underground house and disco.

The esteemed contributors include Frank Wiedemann, one half of acclaimed duo Âme and co-founder of Berlin-based label Innervisions. Eccentric and reclusive maven Maurice Fulton makes a rare appearance, along with legendarily diverse New York DJ Joaquin "Joe" Claussell of the famed Body & Soul parties as well as Chicago house pioneer Larry Heard. Rub-N-Tug are a boisterous New York duo, and here they slot next to Jules Etienne's collaboration with disco purist Daniel Wang, founder of Balihu Records
Other artists on the compilation include Blackjoy, responsible for Parisian sci-fi disco, prolific Japanese producer Kaoru Inoue aka Chari Chari, Irish house heavyweight Mano Le tough, and Jiro Amimoto, who has produced the music at previous Y-3 runway shows. Discodromo, who heads up one of Berlin's top gay alternative parties Cocktail D'Amore, collaborates here with Italian Massimiliano Pagliara, a longtime resident at Frankfurt's Robert Johnson nightclub. Alex from Tokyo pulls double-duty, contributing a track from his and Isao Kumano's Tokyo Black Star project as well as mixing the CD version of the release. Rounding out the mix is anonymous Scottish producer Lord of the Isles and Quiet Village, featuring Matt "Radio Slave" Edwards.

The Y-3 compilation will be released in mid-September via the Y-3 website, retail stores, and social media outlets. The compilation will be available on CD with the tracks both mixed continuously or unmixed, along with 500 special-edition vinyl box sets and free digital downloads.

Having established itself with EPs from Duke Slammer and DMX Krew, Dublin's Modern Magic welcomes Bari's Armonics for the label's third release.  A trained pianist and resident DJ/curator of the We Talk event series in his home city, Armonics draws influence from electronic music across the past 40 years: Chicago & acid house, italo- & electro-disco, new wave, synth-pop and vaporwave. 

His 'Italowave' style is a fusion of these retro-futuristic and cosmic styles, forged through Armonic's production processes which include cassette recordings, vintage synths & modern Korg/Roland gear.  The 'Look Alive' EP is the producer's second release, following a debut on Slow Motion in late 2016.

Accompanying the EP's three original tracks is an anthemic, piano-led remix of 'Red Eye' by International Feel act Black Spuma, aka Lauer (Tuff City KIds/Arto Mwambe) and Fabrizio Mammarella (Telespazio).

Transmitting treacherous local energy into his new creative undertakings, Bogdan now joins the Not An Animal force keeping the flame well and truly ignited. A'Parovoznikov' fires across all cylinders with a vigorous Italo-arp bass motor, driving it further down the cosmic highway, engine doused in fully-lubricated synth-pad oil.

Justin Van Der Volgen's remix swiftly rips the wing mirror clean off with a zealous two-to-the-floor-hitting blowout. On the B, 'Listopad' cruises top down with a more Balearic approach. A dreamy square bass glissades alongside percussive hats and succulent pads that shuffle within the horizon, whilst computer bleeps chomp and add an intensifying clarity. Kito Jempere's remix closes the release with his first contribution to the label. It lifts up the original and drives towards sundown into moonlight. Warping bass tones squelch against fetching stabs and brash breaks keeping this track fully pulsating.

The French rarities label sticks to its peculiar aesthetics and welcomes you once again to an enthralling musical trip — starting with Tchamy Patterson’s groovy & percussive afrobeat only to spiral into Barnes' and Ygalove's hypnotic The Mongol Raid slow-mo trance edit and steering from La Décadanse's tropical and sensual rework of vintage hit Amazoniaque all the way down to Éric Vincent's obscure 80s French erotica.

'The Mongol Raid' is the result of Deviant Disco's new beat connoisseur Ygal Ohayon (@trashdisco) aka Ygalove teaming up with mysterious producer Barnes (from Barnes & Wobble). Ygal bumped into a trancy, unmarked german white label from the 90s ; he pulled the age-old 'oops — wrong speed' 33 RPM trick and waited for Barnes to come along with his magic scissors. With the cheeky addition of an oriental synth going properly bananas, their collaboration gave rise to this entirely rebuilt, borderline industrial tune. A wholesome slow trance monster!Release

To the time when Berlin's 'Love Parade' grew in all our hearts and when the first dance music bars and clubs have been born in Lithuania. In Joniškis at that time, dance marathons took place, where people once danced non-stop for 20-30 hours. Without any booze or drugs, driven only by love for music and dance... Dalston Superstore residents Super Drama kickstart their new label with a series of three V/A EPs celebrating the artists central to East London's queer scene, with a few international friends thrown in for good measure. Originally planned as a full album, to be rolled out alongside a string of charity fundraising events, the first of the three EPs bring together the likes of Hannah Holland, Jaye Ward, Angel D'lite, label bosses Super Drama and Homodrop's Cheriii who delivers a stomping warehouse jam peppered with crisp percussion and underpinned by a warbling acid line.
