Stolen Dance (Adina Nova Remix) - Milky Chance (17.05.23)

In March of 2020 I randomly went to a Lane 8 show at Mission Ballroom that changed my life. Two weeks later the pandemic hit the U.S. and I spent the quarantine deep diving into house, techno, and trance music. I knew I had found my musical home. As the world opened back up, I continued to experience the magic of the dance floor and found a welcoming community where I made meaningful connections and a truly diverse group of friends who have had a huge impact on my life.

This DJ mix (and the accompanying video edit on Instagram) is a celebration of the euphoric memories I have made on the dance floor (and at home) listening to melodic tunes over the past 4 years. There is no way to describe the feeling on the dance floor when you feel connected to everyone around you and the music brings both a smile to your face and tears to your eyes, but this little video edit and mix is an attempt to convey that feeling. I am thankful for all the beautiful people I have met in the community the past several years and for all my friends who have supported my passion for DJing. I love you all.

Memories of Euphoria

Earthly Delights is a record label known for its melodic releases with deep atmosphere and organic sounds. The label's new release is a three-track EP by Sealtian who is fast becoming one of the imprint's most beloved producers.

Sealtian is an exciting new talent whose soothing style is a revitalising blend of heartwarming melody and flowing percussion. This is his second solo EP for Earthly Delights and fifth time featuring a contribution to one of the label's releases. His music can also be found on other respected imprints such as Souksonic.

"Marram" is the EP's title track, and it's got shimmering pads and sweeping strings that are accompanied by ethereal vocal tones and uplifting melodies.

Welcome back to the Chapel.

We are ringing in today’s milestone episode 025 by bringing you all a progressive packed show and a guest mix you’ll want to stick around for. 

Let’s explore the background of our guest today - @evgeniirymd, also known as Ev Rymd, embarked on his music journey in 2015, drawing inspiration from Eric Prydz. After experimenting with various styles within progressive house, Evgenii discovered his own unique style, characterized by deep, hypnotic progressive house with hints of the genre’s early 2000s roots.

I connected with him through his platform and instantly ran with Ev’s mixing style, sound selections, and overall journey he sets for the audience. Premiere: Adina Nova & Coff - The Serpent's Call [Purified Records]

Delivering the latest installment of its Fragment series, Purified Records presents Purified Fragments XXI. Opening with Fernandez and Silvera’s club-ready cut ‘Emptiness’ Feat. Nemila, the producers build a driving soundscape contrasted by soaring vocals. Flowing into Dutch producer Ønawa’s ‘Pulse of Life’, a mysterious tone is evoked with alluring vocals, deep bass and acid synths, keeping listeners engaged throughout its entirety. Closing with Toronto-based producer Adina Nova and Atlanta-based artist Coff’s collaboration ‘The Serpent’s Call’, this spellbinding cut calls upon whispers and a captivating arrangement to achieve a hypnotic atmosphere. 

The Fragments XXI artwork showcases a photograph of a shark and its accompanying remoras, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Remoras, also known as shark suckers, play an interesting role in marine ecosystems through their symbiotic relationships with larger marine animals like sharks and rays. By attaching themselves to these hosts, remoras benefit from movement and protection, while they help their hosts by removing parasites and cleaning their skin. This mutualistic relationship enhances the overall health and stability of marine life, contributing indirectly to the ecological balance of oceanic environments. Organizations like Shark Stewards are on a mission to save endangered sharks and rays from overfishing and the shark fin trade, and protect critical marine habitat through the establishment of marine protected areas. 

Located on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Daniel Nicholson is one of the globe’s most prominent professional underwater photographers. He seeks to share the beauty and magic of the underwater world to inspire conservation and change.

Renowned Spanish artist Dosem (real name Marc Ramirez) releases his new album ‘Dream Decoder’ today on Anjunadeep. A considered mix of ambient atmospheres and melodic techno, ‘Dream Decoder’ was preceded by album singles ‘Tower’, ‘Megacities’ and ‘Eternal Summer’. 

With DJ support from the the likes of Tale Of Us, Hot Since 82, Maceo Plex, Camelphat, Gorgon City and Solomun and tastemaker stations like BBC Radio 1, Triple J, and KCRW, Dosem’s newest LP is set to solidify his reputation as one of Spain’s premier dance producers. 

With releases on Anjunadeep, Toolroom, John Digweed’s Bedrock, and his own imprint Houstrike, Dosem is a global player. He’s headlined Boiler Room in Catalonia and recently performed at Sonar, Ultra Miami, FNGRS CRSSD, Tomorrowland, Printworks London, and ADE, to name a few.

‘Dream Decoder’ features 15 new tracks of atmospheric, driving house and techno. Delicate textures and progressions rooted in modular synthesis are showcased throughout the album; ‘Soul Window’ and ‘So Close So Far’ are reminiscent of seminal artists such as Vangelis and Georgio Moroder, whilst ‘Megacities’ and ‘Dream Decoder’ up the ante with the raw, unrelenting energy that fans of Dosem know and love.

Composed during long stays in Tokyo, ‘Dream Decoder’ explores the theory “that links dreams to parallel universes and alternative lives”. Dosem expands on how this theory and the bustling metropolis heavily inspired the album’s forward-facing and diverse sound:

"I have always found the world of dreams a fascinating subject. Not only have they had a strong impact in my life, but they have also served as a powerful creative tool in my career. During these most recent years, I dedicated myself to keeping a small journal to remember them and to use it as inspiration for my music. At first, they seemed like abstract stories with no connection between them, but little by little, I began to find a code that linked everything…”

“In recent years, I became interested in the practice of lucid dreaming. This technique took on particular relevance during my various stays in Tokyo - a place that has always transmitted to me that beautiful metaphor between dreams and reality. I came up with the idea of making an audiovisual tribute to this wonderful city. So I started taking photos of its streets and its architecture, which at some point, served also as a gateway for those dream experiences. In this way, each song represents a dream, an album made of stories between this world and other worlds. A journey that tries to decode the dialogue between the conscious and the unconscious through music."

Dosem’s fourth studio album ‘Dream Decoder’ is out now via Anjunadeep. A limited edition of ‘Dream Decoder’ LPs is available, consisting of five club mixes selected by Dosem.
