Autumn 2024 Mixtape [Electro]

Goia Amo’s journey from painting to electronic music is a curious exploration of abstract art forms, blending and translating visual into auditory experiences. Her ability to deconstruct visual elements and work with abstract themes likely informed her approach to DJing, where she found creative parallels between these two worlds.

As a DJ, Goia's sets reflect her artistic vision, characterised by the same layered complexity and experimentation that mark her paintings, creating sonic journeys that immerse listeners in dark, eerie atmospheres whilst infusing them with funkiness and groove. Drawing from electro and techno, along with influences from Miami bass and baile funk—shaped by her upbringing in Rio de Janeiro—her performances blend abstract sounds and rhythms into a mix that engages both the intellectual and emotional aspects of music.
