FROM TUNIS TO PARIS

Hamma is originally from Tunisia, a child of the south. He grew up surrounded by traditional oriental sounds and electronic music that was very popular in the country. Passionate about breakdancing, which he practiced at the time with his childhood friends, he developed an interest in Western music and culture, both urban and otherwise: Hip Hop, Pop, etc.

AND ONE DAY, ALMOST BY CHANCE, HE CAME ACROSS TURNTABLES IN DJERBA...

At the age of 20, as part of his studies, he moved temporarily to Cannes: a new country, a new culture, new rules. Fascinated by social diversity and musical richness, those first moments in France symbolized for him the discovery and realization of his art and talent. He then set out for the capital, where new experiences and encounters would lead him to a promising career.

CHAMPION OF FRANCE, THE ULTIMATE RECOGNITION!

Curious, determined, and entirely self-taught, his technique improved, and his creativity became limitless. This thirst for learning, for refining his skills, and for succeeding in this field drove him to sign up for the championship organized by Red Bull.
HIS STYLE AND TALENT WIN EVERYONE OVER! HE SEIZES THE TITLE OF CHAMPION OF FRANCE.
This title became a real springboard for his career, both in France and internationally. It also led him to compete for the world title in Taiwan, in the same competition, where he placed in the top 5.

ATYPICAL

It’s hard to define the talent, technique, and style of Hamma in a single word, other than “atypical,” given how comfortable he is with a multitude of musical styles (electro, house, afrotrap, R&B, Hip Hop, etc.), no matter the setting or the audience. In a club, a stadium, a museum, on the roof of a church, or in the depths of the desert, nothing can throw him off when he’s at the turntables.
Even after the pandemic, which shut down the nightlife scene for many months, Hamma found unconventional venues to keep playing, having fun, and offering musical content to his followers. To appreciate the full scope of his talent and creativity, follow him on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok...
He also never runs out of ideas when it comes to bringing his French audience together, thanks to his own “Hamma & Friends” events, organized since 2019.

Very active internationally, Hamma is regularly invited abroad and has found an audience in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Dubai, Qatar, and many more places: Taiwan, Cyprus, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nigeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco...
Every summer, he collaborates with Mosaïque FM, a Tunisian radio station, with a weekly show featuring one hour of an exclusive set.

You know, lately these tapez have been inspiring me in a very spiritual way. As I digitize them these songz from the past take me 2 that time & moment again. Not 2 mention all the DJ'z I became very tight with when I had them as live guest on our then radio show on 91.5 FM WPRK, Winter Park, Orlando. Of course big propz 2 my radio partner DJ Cano, We had a blast doing these showz. Big up'z 2 all the DJ'z that came through & all the other DJ'z that sent tapez of their mixes & Record Labels around the Globe who helped me make these thingz happen. It was a lot harder back then without the internet, but so much more gratifying.
Okay, now 2 the man on 2day'z mixtape. Derrick May, 1 of Detroit Techno innovators & my fave out of the Motor-City. I remember airing this mix on our show & the phones lighting up with listeners going ballistic!!! Derrick takes us there Detroit styleee!!!

Mannheim based Ray Okpara is not a new face into our family as we already got him with “Re Drumming” into our latest various artists compilation. This time he makes his debut with an original solo EP, which includes an amazing remix by Romanian duo NTFO (20/20 Vision, Dyinamic, Objektivity). Hailing from Nigeria, but now based in Germany, Ray is one of the heavyweight into the European scene with several appearances on Anja Schneider’s “Mobilee” and Nic Fanciulli’s “Saved” to name few. 
His brand new original three-tracker called “Sligerstai” EP starts with entitled main track: a techno tune which shows both Ray’s melodic and percussive touch. It features an essential groove, drum fills, ethereal pads and dreamy atmospheres and the result it’s just impressive. 
The guys from NTFO adapt their peculiar trademark for a super groovy house remix where an energetic tight groove meets some punchy rimshots, 909 drums and seductive synths. All the elements are lovely melt together over its seven minutes ride and make of this track a perfect opening tool.
Next up is “Melodram” and as the name suggests is a slow builder techno track with melancholy atmospheres, classic piano improvisations and analog evolving textures. The whole track is surrounded by weird instrumental sounds, that all add up to one mind blowing trip.
Closing is “Tiger Classic” which has a more deep and quite-jazzy approach compared to the others. The analogue bassline meets splashing hits and robbery drums and the track is arranged like a true amazing jam session, where the acid 303 lines constantly take part into the track with his characteristic squelchy sound.
