This week we are teaming up with another wicked DJ from the Rainy City, Ailsa McLaggan. 

Ailsa runs the vinyl night Living Room Dance Club and is a stalwart on the Manchester soul & disco scene, a veteran behind the counter at Vinyl Exchange and one of Reform Radio's longest running residents.

Pushing the furniture back and setting the time machine around 1970 and beyond,
Ailsa boasts a vast vinyl selection of eccentric soul, rare groove & leftfield disco.

Ailsa has been serving up solid gold scoops of soul to the city and its suburbs for many moons so it was a pleasure to meet her down at Yadava’s all kinds of joy party back in February. We’ve been sharing our love of soul & disco music ever since and I’m stoked to finally be able to share her mix with you - it’s a good ‘un!

This month we’re delighted to welcome Frederika, a Bulgarian born, London based DJ.

Frederika is the co-founder of reissue label @discsoffunandlove alongside @miche.dj 

Frederika loves art in all its forms but music holds the most special place in her heart. Frederika loves to explore and weave together sounds from different music scenes around the world from the 60s to the present day. She enjoys how DJ-ing is like a story you’re building out of sound and movement, and is always aiming to surprise dancers by keeping the selections fresh and varied to show how different genres and music from different cultures around the world can work together. 

She can regularly be found spinning records at London’s @brilliant_cnrs corners and @jumbipeckham and she also has a radio show every third Weds of the month on @theboatpod 

She’s enjoyed sets @ntloft @thecauselondon & @metropolisclub_ as well as guesting on @nts_radio @balamii and @sohoradio with a very nice Bulgarian feature mix for @myanalogjournal 

Frederika also made her debut at @lostvillagefestival last August, so it seems like only a matter of time before you’ll see her at a city near you.

The Italian brothers Gino and Federico Grasso are bona fide ‘disco don’s’, collecting music for over 30 years and supplying the likes Dimitri From Paris, Sadar Bahar and Volcov with obscure gems. Gino is a familiar face behind the decks in his hometown of Bologna and across Italy, while Federico’s DJing outings are more occasional. Music, passion and knowledge has seen Gino play underground clubs the world over, including Le Souk in NYC and the Bussey Building and Brilliant Corners in London.
