Inspirada en el Libro Tibetano de los muertos y en los procesos naturales de la descomposición
cadeverica; La esperanza de que un bosque brote sobre mi cadáver narra la muerte de un ser vivo y los
procesos que sufre su cuerpo para la transformación de una vida nueva. Ira, negación, desesperación y
resignación son algunas de las emociones que está obra intenta representar.

Is inspired by the collage of the same name and the poem by Mexican artist Cecilia Morales. In both works, Cecilia deices time as an artificial entity. This time transforms everything it touches into an everyday life that. resembles a prison. Spontaneity is liberation.
"... Pero qué extraño es el tiempo
Que conmuta la vida
Que hasta. lo que no toca, lo toca
¿En cuantas midas se desdobla la estadía?
The saxophone solo with which the piece begins suggesters a liberation. The ensemble as a representation of a time will gradually capture the saxophone.

The memory of the past is always idyllic, we decide to forget the bad times to keep only the happy ones, however, this does not mean that the previous time was better.We modify the memories in such a way that reality is a mere pretext. Crisálida Lunar reflects this idea in a sonorous way, presenting a first theme with solo violins that later will suffer variations. This as a metaphor of a memory that every time it is recalled, it is altered to the point of not resembling the origin.  
 
Crisálida Lunar reflects the different stages of a personal memory, passing through the beautiful and sublime moments, but also with the objective of reaching the bad and unpleasant ones. The goal is to reach the feeling of melancholy.

INCERTAE
Esta obra es una historia sonora, un viaje al interior de nuestra mente. Basada en el conflicto que se vive al sentir la incertidumbre, de ahí el título.  Una sensación que existe  al no tener certeza de nuestra realidad o de nuestro futuro.
Justo esto retrata la obra, los conflictos internos que suceden por nuestra mente cuando esta sensación nos invade, pasando por la desesperación, la ansiedad e incluso la depresión. Sin embargo esta se transforma cuando logramos calmar a la misma y llegamos a aceptarla.


INCERTAE

This work is a sound story, a journey into our mind. Based on the conflict experienced by feeling uncertainty, hence the title. A feeling that exists when we are not sure of our reality or of our future.

Just this portrays the work, the internal conflicts that happen through our mind when this sensation invades us, through despair, anxiety and even depression. However this is transformed when we manage to calm it and we accept it.

Commissioned by and composed during the Arturo Márquez Extraordinary Fellowship in Music Composition 2020, of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)

Un Cataplasma Sobre La Viva Carne Del Corazón

He was born in Mexico City and graduated in composition from the Faculty of Music of the UNAM. There he studied with Leonardo Coral, Francisco Cortés, María Granillo and Cristina García Islas. In 2020 he entered the program “Cátedra Extraordinaria de Composición Musical” at the Faculty of Music of the UNAM, where he studied with Arturo Márquez. He is currently a student of the Master in Composition at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg in the class of Johannes Maria Staud.  

His training has also included master classes and courses with composers Michael Jarrell, Julio Estrada, Víctor Ibarra, Augusta Read Thomas, Pierreluigi Billone, Frederic Dureux, Francesco Filidei, Eva Reiter, Yann Robin, Sarah Nemtsov and Henry Fourés. 

 

He has received several commissions and premieres from important ensembles and institutions, such as the Orquesta Juvenil Universitaria Eduardo Mata, the Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes and the Ensamble Sexteto Místico. Among the ensembles with which he has worked are Ensemble Multilatetalé (FR), Ensemble Fractales (BEL), Ensemble Garage (DE), Ensemble Recherche (DE) and the Cuarteto Latinoamericano (MX).
