Ma et al (2015) introduced the concept of Music-Based Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting (MRF-Music), which involves the conversion of MP3 music files into encoding gradients in 2D and 3D MRI sequences (Figure 4). Realistically, Ma et al (2015) were able to combine the music waveform of Yo-Yo Ma playing Bach's Cello Suite #1 into each stage of the gradients (selection, dephasing, readout, and spoiling phases). They were somewhat successful in combining these waveforms; however, more work needs to be done in terms of refining and making the pleasant music more prominent than the loud gradients produced by the MRI machine.
