I dared to cover this macedonian folk song written in the 1990s to make it sound completely different, to experiment with the thought that any piece of music can be made so different depending on the arrangement and performing style. I call this "Macedonian Fado" :D

Prvi stih je o temi putovanja i doma itd. Često sam putovao kombijem od Beograda do Budimpešte kroz Vojvodinu do aerodroma tamo kad nisam imao letove iz Beograda do Londona … posebno u jesen svetlo je bilo neverovatno, i kroz topole podsetilo me je na selo gde sam odrastao. 

2. Otac Kozma, iz Novog Pazara
Srce mu svetlost zvezda,

Otac Kozma je bio monah u manastiru Sopoćani blizu Novog Pazara, i prvi put kad smo išli dole, i kad smo se upoznali, ja sam mislio da je on jedna od najtoplijih osoba koje sam ikad sreo. Imao je toliko ljubavi prema Maji kao da mu je ćerka. Umro je od korone sa samo 50 godina, ali bio je ranjiv u vezi sa zdravljem. Dve priče su religije tamo… ali muslimani u okolini tamo su bili puni poštovanja prema njemu i bili su tužni i razočarani kad je umro, i on je takođe bio pun razumevanja i poštovanja prema njima.

Treći je o Maji, moja žena.

4. Mi smo ušće

Četvrti je grad Beograd, kao da ušće je grad i razlog grada, i dakle grad ima dva velika srca!

Eastern Roads, second release of Arhai project. 
Centred around singer, instrumentalist and programmer Jovana Backovic, ArHai's 'Eastern Roads' came about through blending her ethereal multi-layered vocals with the delicate, enigmatic tones of the long-necked tambura lute played by Adrian Lever, using ancient sounds and words carried and mediated by contemporary electronics. With influences ranging from Dead Can Dance, Ozric Tentacles and Nitin Sawhney to Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares, ArHai's second album comes as a pared-down, thought-through offering with wide appeal full of eastern promise.

part of a forthcoming album of watermark preludes - these are pieces based on preparatory work for the larger piece 'watermark' based on field recordings from the river systems of Stara Planina (Serbia) and instrumental response using dual prepared microtonal piano. Riffing on the theme of Ravel's Ondine as a way into the dialogue between matrilineal water-based worldings and Astrida Neimanis' book 'bodies of water', a phenomenological approach to water issues and rights, based on thinking as a body of water. 
The preludes are improvisations using dual piano preparation and microtonal developments arrived at after listening to and recording the streams and shallow mountain rivers of Stara Planina, which are threatened by run-of-river hydro turbine development.
