Intertwining groove elements, bass plucks, and synth melodies paint a picture of organic opulence. A bass-heavy breakbeat bridge captures the immense power of weather systems and plate tectonics.

The B-side Island After Dark is a 128 bpm Acid Jam with crisp UKG percussion. It's the soundtrack to a scene of a island beach at night on a winter evening. The only light illuminating the sand is the skyglow from distant cities in the horizon. The ocean breeze is biting but that does not stop passerby from taking a moment to reflect upon the serenity of the roar of the waves.

Island After Dark

Mercury Vapor is a smooth 135 bpm breakbeat groove inspired by the glow of mercury vapor street lights. 

The green hue of this particular gas-discharge lamp adds an entrancing otherworldly glow to the street that it illuminates. The layers of swooping pads and the rich lead synth paint an illusory landscape. This transforms into a heavy groove with the introduction of the sub and breakbeat. 

Monolithic’s long-time collaborator Computer Data (San Francisco) has transformed the original motifs into a slick acid belter with warm chord pads and flowing lead synth melodies. The sustained basslines are sure to throw home listeners and clubgoers into a trance.
