Born and raised in Tupelo, MS, Adrian started playing music at an early age on the bass guitar. In college Adrian was the bassist for singer/songwriter Sanders Bohlke  and toured with The Fray, Mat Kearney, and Jason Mraz. Adrian also had the opportunity to play bass with Alex Dezen of The Damnwells. From then on Adrian picked up the guitar and began writing his own music. Starting a band called Avenue Hearts, Adrian won two awards, one out of Nashville, TN for his song "Hold On" and the second an honorable mention in the World Billboard Song Contest with his song "Strangers". Now after searching and writing more, he believes this new soulful album has truly helped discover his voice.

Adrian Dickey has always surprised people with a beautiful voice and strong songwriting.  But in a don't-call-it-a-comeback-style run for this Tupelo native, we're getting a lot more than that.  We're getting layered compositions, dips into new genres, and a generally more mature and more complex sound.  And then there's back up harmonies with the hill country's best gospel groups.

His turn back onto the stage has been gentle and homegrown.  He's stepped in with various local acts and friends in rooms around the square, trying new things.  And this natural, simple progression has led him to a new album and new paths that seem understatedly sunny.
