What easier way to dramatise "25% off" than to downgrade the traditional golf holler of, "four", down to, "three"?

This is a radio ad that I developed and wrote (together with my copywriter at Spinach Advertising) for The Dunes IMG golf course "25% off" promotion.

It was an engaging way to transform a fairly prosaic retail offer into something that was contextually relevant and memorable.

The Dunes Radio Ad

This was the radio ad that accompanied the Pubidome advertising campaign.

And in keeping with the rest of the campaign, it was mired in controversy.

To wit, this is the second recorded version of the spot. I say second, as the first version was rejected by Nova FM, who in their infinite wisdom determined that they couldn't broadcast a radio ad with the word Pubidome in it, as that was far too risqué for the delicate sensibilities of their listeners.

Not one to be thrown by a curve-ball however, I turned the not insignificant dilemma of not being able to mention the product name, into the beating heart of the new & improved ad.

The spot was recorded at PetroPhonics by Petros Georgiades and constitutes one of the only times that I've been the 'Voice Over' talent - this time in my capacity as everyone's favourite medical huckster, Dr. Heffenschteiner.

The background music was a cut-down version of the original soundtrack that I composed and recorded for the Pubidome video.

This is a track that I created that was presented as part of Disegno's winning pitch for the Baileys Ice Cream account. Even though we didn't ultimately end up creating a TVC, the music helped set the mood and demonstrated our clear understanding of the mood and tone of the brand, and the direction that we wanted to take for the launch of the Baileys Ice Cream brand in Australia.
