Following up their third self-titled album This Is Head is releasing a playful remix EP containing a handful of remixers, all in one way or the other related to the music or the people. This is a friendly release on top of everything.

Repetition Slow (Rivet Remix)
Rivet is a well-known name with releases on labels like Skudge and Kontra-Musik. He is previously known under the alias Grovskopa. This Is Head did their own remix on the track “Repetition” for a 7” released in 2013 and they called it “Repetition Slow” here Rivet remixes the remix and takes us on an experimental gravel journey.

We finally have achieved a sound of rave and hardcore but have somehow managed to stay sonically sane....Not saying we are insane but at times when the homie Hender drops a classic raveathon like this original called "Enlightenment" for instance, we disconnect from earthly wishes and desires and call for help from God Almighty. Om man tar en av Sveriges mest respekterade jazzgitarrister, en billboard-låtskrivare, en kaféägande rocksångare och en ska-trummis, får man tydligen, lite otippat, det kanske hårdaste som träffat dina trumhinnor detta år. Låt oss ge er neo-thrash-, punk-, hardcore-, sludge-, speed-bandet Bitch Hawk. En enhet till synes besatt av att förena Beastie Boys sväng med Bathory. 

Dagens rockmusik är unken, ofta självuppblåst, barikad-patetisk och genomsyrad av en macho-jargong lika förlegad som ett tritonus-intervall. Med det sagt, Bitch Hawk spelar rock, de är vita män och de har döpt sitt band till Bitch Hawk. Vad du än känner så kan vi lova att du kommer inte att lämnas oberörd.

Vi släpper nu lös första singeln från ett kommande debutalbum. Singeln ”Winning” är den snällaste låten på plattan. Likväl som med de väna pressbilderna tar vi gemene man och leder hen med ett mjugg-leende rakt ner i fördärvet. 

"The song is based on the downfall of Charlie Sheen", säger bandet. Fan vet vad de menar med det. 

Våga nu inte börja härja om supergrupp, men bakom namnet Bitch Hawk döljer sig inga nykläckta ungtuppar. Basisten Patrik Berger är kanske mest känd för att skriva låtar till Lana Del Rey och Charli XCX. Han skrev även ”I Love It” till Icona Pop och "Dancing on My Own” tillsammans med Robyn. Han har också ett förflutet i kaosrockarna Snuffed by the Yakuza. Andreas Hourdakis är en av Sveriges bästa jazzgitarrister och turnerar Europa runt som medlem i Magnus Öströms band. Han släppte just ett välmottaget soloalbum som Andreas Hourdakis Trio. På sång återfinns Fred Burman, som annars sjunger i Satan Takes A Holiday. Henrik bakom trummorna har harvat i ska-träsket och obskyra rockband tills han nu hittat hem.

The awarded and established exciting Hey Elbow are finally back with new material. After extensive touring in all the world following the release of their debut album, they are ready to release new material and hit the road again. The band will premiere their new tracks on a special curated show at the Iceland Airwaves Festival in November. This is the first single from an upcoming second album. 

Hey Elbow consists of Julia Ringdahl (vocals/guitar), Ellen Petersson (horns/electronics), and Liam Amner (drums). With a background in jazz and an ear for distortion they create eccentric pop music with a big sound. 

Hey Elbow took its name from an aerobics warm-up exercise they were taught while standing in the audience waiting for a show by The Knife. With their foundations in jazz and musical education, combined with an interest in noise, improvisation and freedom, they make oddly haunting pop music with a unique and personal expression.

Fritz Ta is a Philly-born, Asian-American DJ driven and inspired by his adventures and explorations in the underground music scene. His sets can range from chill deep house to dirty ghetto tech to hypnotic, energetic pulsing techno but you can always expect them to tell a weird story and make you want to move and groove your body in strange ways.

As co-founder of @mashtnyc, he and a collective of fellow local DJ's and artists seek to contribute the warm fuzzy vibes and profound effects that varying forms techno and house music have on the soul. The team curates techno-heavy gatherings at Sleepwalk, Jupiter Disco, and Bossa Nova Civic Club in Brooklyn as well as a MASHT NYC podcast featuring local and international guests.
