I started writing this track a few months ago. This has probably been one of the only tracks i have made to evolve so much from a basic concept to a full song. It started off with me playing a couple of chords on my keyboard and having my brother record me playing so I could use it for later use. What I initially started off with was a completely different vibe than what I have now (no pun intended).
It was a lot more happy and dancy but it wasn't the best sounding tune to my ears. However, I didn't want to completely scrap the project. So I used the same chords and guitar melody heard in the track and gave it more of a moody feel. Then came the lyrics. The chorus and bridge came to me fairly easily, but the verses took a long time to figure out. I was originally going to sing the verses with different lyrics but never got the sound I quite wanted. So I sang it differently. Still no luck. Then I got the idea to rap the lyrics I already had. It fit the song better in my opinion, but I still needed to change the lyrics to better suite the rapping. And now It's finally finished and realeased. I hope you all enjoy! (:

What Can You Say About Me?

My girlfriend has always wanted me to write her a song in her style of music. She’s an indie lover, but I’m more of a pop artist. However, I can vibe with her music! As a surprise for our 5 year anniversary and her birthday I wrote her an entire EP in her style of music (or at least as close as I possibly could make it).

“Beautiful Sunrise” was a last minute addition to this EP. I already had the other three songs finished and wasn’t planning on adding a fourth one, but my brother told me “you can finish another song before your girlfriend comes to visit”. I had only 2 days before she came in for the week from Iowa. My plan was to show her the EP while she was here, so if I were to make another song it had to be quick, simple, and finished within a day. I started writing the song in the morning and had everything produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by the end of the day. It helps to be a bedroom producer, haha!
