Riga born / Barcelona based Ksenia Kamikaza is a prominent figure in Latvian scene. The founder of UNDER festival and Platz für Tanz label, Ksenia is one of the main moving forces of rave culture in Latvia. You cannot imagine local showcases of Gegen, Voxnox or Boiler Room without her boundless sets. Spinning records in places like fabric.London, Dommune in Tokyo, Sziget in Budapest or Kit Kat in Berlin, losing herself in music and dust at Burning Man, Ksenia varies from techno to ambient, from dark disco to IDM. She puts listeners on a rhythm and sound journey you cannot leave once you have stepped in.

VSLK: Your first DJ gig?
Ksenia: In March 2004. I had started the Intelligent Beats radio show the year before and my friends invited me to play in the chill-out room at their party. I was so nervous that I pressed the play button of the first track, but later I messed up the players and stopped the track. Omg, I will remember it forever and I even remember the track, it was Bonobo - Something for Windy.

VSLK: Your longest DJ set?
Ksenia: 9 hours in Brussels. It was supposed to be 3 hours, but people just didn't leave. I tried to put slower tracks and they started to dance in pairs, so I decided to go on. I got sick the day before, so I was taking Nurofen and drinking shots of vodka and playing and playing. Next day I was totally fine, no temperature at all. In 2 years a guy came to me at a festival in Batumi and said: Heeey, I remember you from Brussels, that was an amazing party! Was totally unexpected, nice surprise. It was a good party indeed, and sweet memories.

VSLK: What is important to you on the road, especially from gig to gig?
Ksenia: Healthy food, which is almost impossible. I literally hate airport food, same sandwiches all over the world. Though there are exceptions, Rome airport has excellent food and choice of drinks. I also loved Kyiv's Boryspil, even had my favorite restaurant and the coffee place there.

VSLK: Rock or Pop?
Ksenia: Pop, because Rock is dead (sorry guys).

VSLK: Any movie or series recommendations?
Ksenia: One of my favorite movies is Our Music directed by Jean-Luc Godard in 2004. He is one of the greatest directors indeed. In this movie he speaks about the war, what it brings to the world. 20 years have passed, but it feels like he would film it about our days. The true masterpiece, not really known to the wide audience. Not to finish on a sad note, I would like to mention another movie: Kebab Connection by Anno Saul. It is a hilarious comedy about love and how it conquers stupid prejudices and traditions.

Happy to present you this one mixed by Yanling.

The Swiss-born Hong Kong native, Yanling has captured dance floors since 2012 with her bold style – where she perfected her robustly intricate musical flair. Today she is based between Zurich and Berlin, where she is playing in big-name clubs like Tresor and is resident for the infamous Music Label Raster Media at RSO. She
has also appeared in line-ups at music festivals and cultural institutions from NYC to Beijing. The Swiss born Hong Kong native spent her childhood between Zurich and HK, and Zurich is where she got her musical jump-start amongst the city’s local left-field dance scenes. Her techno orientated DJ sets are charged with energy and mechanized intensity made up of bass-heavy percussions that infuse emotional power with her own brand of vivid futurism and invigorating atmospheric soundscapes. Natalja is the founder of Aurora, which is a series of ambient, drone and atmospheric live acts. The audience inhabits the cathedralic space, languishing about to the splendor of the immersive sounds accompanied by a audio responsive visual. As a producer, Yanling has a hold on varying dystopian-like sonic registers, mixed
with a heavy float of airy synths. She works from a more cinematic sphere enveloped in ephemeral textures. Merging sinister effects with a particular luminosity makes Yanling’s sound boundless, carrying listeners between both realms her varying experimental productions and live performances presented in contexts that bridge sound and art.

"As for my mix, being a lover of hypnotic techno and various trance and hard techno subgenres, I mixed the various styles a bit creating a flow that in my opinion I would dare to say 'a shade of Rave'.

Born and raised in southern Italy where I had the opportunity to be resident in the pearl of the Gargano through the Infestazioni Sonice festival and followed by the Jeko Area Club. I owe my musical education entirely to these places where I had the opportunity to meet international artists such as DLERIA, Schiari, Key Clef, Flaminia and VSK Luciano Lamanna, AnD, Ancient Methods, Retina.it, Taar and Boungaville, Limo, Wrong Assesment, MARMO and many more.

Robonix is a DJ from Denver, Colorado. While some in his inner circles consider him a wordsmith, he has a music library bigger and more colorful than his vocabulary.

As a raver first and DJ second, Robonix has been involved in Denver's underground electronic music scene for over a decade, awarding him supporting gigs on lineups in clubs and warehouses across the city with the likes of Kwartz, Manni Dee, Marco Bailey, Audion, DJ Stingray, John Tejada and many more.
